Educator for Nature Base Hakkemosen – bring nature right up close to the pedagogical work

Would you like to help give children a daily life in which they can follow tracks in the soil, explore life by the lake and feel the seasons change? And are you keen to help develop a new nature house where you can make your mark on everyday life?

Then you now have the opportunity to become part of Naturbasen Hakkemosen – a part of Naturhuset Spirerne.

In Naturhuset Spirerne, which is our base, there is a nursery spread over 2 groups and a base group. Here the kindergarten children arrive in the morning, at 8:30 we drive by bus to Hakkemosen, and we’re back again at 15:30. The children are in Spirerne until they’re picked up.

You’ll have colleagues you can rely on

When both Spirerne and Naturbasen are fully up and running, you’ll be around 13 pedagogues, 4 pedagogical assistants and a cook.

You’ll thus have a professional community around you – with a strong “we” culture, where we help each other, share knowledge and spar about pedagogy. There is room here for both professional discussions and a good laugh.

You’ll have nature as part of your pedagogy

Naturbasen lies in the middle of Hakkemosen’s nature area with meadow, lake, open spaces and gardens just outside the door. Here we are more outside than inside, and nature is actively used as a learning space.

You will get a newly renovated villa, designed for the purpose , with among other things a bonfire house, orangery, herb garden and rainwater gutter. It provides plenty of opportunities to explore, experiment, play and create together with the children.

As an educator you translate the possibilities into good experiences and pedagogical processes. You seize the children’s questions and ideas, start activities and follow what the children become engaged in.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape something new

Naturbasen is still in the establishment phase. Right now there are 30 children, and the house can accommodate 42. The number of children and the staff is growing, which means that you have a real opportunity to help develop everyday life and the pedagogical practice.

Work includes, among other things, nature education, NEST and communities, and there is collaboration with both a nature guide and a remedial education pedagog.

You don’t need to be an expert in nature or science. The most important thing is that you are curious and want to develop yourself together with children and colleagues.

You’ll have flexibility and a 4-day work week

All staff work in a 4-day work week , and the same adults usually follow the children through the entire day – also on the bus trip. Therefore you’re able to leave no earlier than 15:30.

You have one hour of preparation, which is taken out of the schedule, and you have influence over when it is placed.

You’ll have a leader who is close by

Your leader is an experienced and attentive manager, who is present at Naturbasen at least two days a week and emphasizes being visible and accessible.

She cares about knowing both children and staff well and about being clear about direction and framework. At the same time there is trust that it is the staff who are the experts on the floor.

You’ll have room to develop yourself

Maybe you already have plenty of experience with nature pedagogy. Maybe nature is new to you, but you want to explore what it can contribute to the pedagogical work. There is room for both.

You’ll help develop both everyday life, nature pedagogy and the pedagogical activities in Naturbasen. You’ll have the opportunity to test ideas, learn from your colleagues and bring your own interests and competences into play.

You’ll become part of a professional environment where you work with nature and science, nature education and NEST , and where there is the possibility of professional sparring with colleagues, a remedial education pedagog and a nature guide.

A parental leave cover with potential for more

The job is a parental leave cover with the potential to apply for a permanent position in the summer

Naturbasen is growing, and there are plans to hire another pedagogue in the summer. The parental leave cover gives you a chance to get to know the house, the children and the colleagues and later apply for a forthcoming permanent position.

Practical information

• The job is 37 hours per week
• Start date 1 January 2027 and with the possibility of starting from Monday 16 November 2026
• Employment according to the applicable collective agreement
