About the job

37 hours per week – starting 1 January 2027 we are seeking a colleague for the nursery and a colleague for the kindergarten

Can you see yourself in a daily life where children explore, play and develop in safe communities – and where you as an adult are present, curious and actively participating?

Then maybe you are the one we are looking for at Hurlumhejhuset.

With us you will become part of a house for children where play, relationships and community are the foundation for children's well-being and development. We work purposefully to create a warm and developing environment where all children feel that they belong, are seen and have the opportunity to succeed.

Who are we?

Hurlumhejhuset is part of Lystrup-Elsted Daycare in the northern part of Aarhus. Here you will meet engaged colleagues who work closely together to create good learning environments and strong child communities.

In our pedagogical work we place emphasis on linguistic learning environments, varied activities, safe settings and play in small groups. We actively participate in the children’s play and support their initiatives, because we know that children develop best in meaningful relationships.

We work to ensure that all children are part of a community, and we do this by dividing the children into smaller groups across rooms according to the nearest development zone and where we can see that there are or can be good relationships.

Every Friday we celebrate the big community by the whole kindergarten meeting for a communal gathering in the common room. The oldest nursery children participate as often as possible.

We work from a relationship-based interaction. That is, we work attachment-based, where we look at function, interaction and relationship. We work systematically with relationship charts to ensure that every child has at least one secure relationship with an adult in the house. We work both to strengthen the child’s inner and outer regulation, for example by making an overview on a board in the room during the day for external steering.

In the staff group we work with psychological safety to create a safe and developing work environment, where we actively use each other for sparring regarding many different issues.

Your role

You will become an important part of the children's everyday life and will be responsible for planning, carrying out and evaluating pedagogical activities. At the same time you follow the children’s well-being and development closely and translate your observations into action.

You will be part of a strong team collaboration and participate in ongoing dialogue with parents, colleagues, management and relevant partners, including PPR (Special Educational Needs Support).

We hope that you

  • are a trained pedagogue or pedagogical assistant
  • meet children with presence, care and professional curiosity
  • focus on child communities and participation opportunities for all children
  • thrive in collaboration with colleagues and parents
  • want to develop the pedagogical practice together with us

What you get with us

You will become part of a house with high professionalism, a good working environment and engaged colleagues. We prioritise sparring, reflection and joint development, and we work every day to create the best framework for both children and staff.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final salary determination takes place after negotiations with the legally empowered trade union based on qualifications, unless the position is covered by a pre-agreement that can form the basis for salary setting

Weekly working hours: 37 hours.
