About the job

Do you want to help strengthen Egedal Municipality's emergency preparedness? Can you stay calm in hectic situations? Do you thrive in a key role where you collaborate with many different people across the organization?

Then you must not hesitate to send us your application!

We in Egedal Municipality pay great attention to the emergency services area both politically and administratively. That is precisely why we are now creating a position as emergency preparedness coordinator.

As an emergency preparedness coordinator you will be the natural hub for the collaboration between the executive, centers, the municipality's institutions, as well as external authorities and partners. You will weave the emergency preparedness threads across the organization by advising, supporting, developing, and implementing recurring as well as new initiatives in the field of emergency preparedness.

The local emergency work is carried out in close collaboration with Frederiksborg Brand- og Redning (FBBR), which is owned by Egedal Municipality together with four other municipalities.

The City Council has decided to establish a § 17.4 committee as part of the strengthened focus on emergency preparedness. The § 17.4 committee is a temporary committee with politicians and representatives from civil society, which shall provide the City Council with recommendations on how the emergency preparedness can be strengthened.

In Egedal Municipality we believe we are best when we work together on the task and provide good service to our partners. Therefore we take care to be welcoming, friendly, curious and collaborate through dialogue and respect.

Your tasks as emergency preparedness coordinator will include

  • Develop and maintain the municipality's overall emergency preparedness plan
  • Have an overview of all of the municipality's emergency responses
  • Be a sparring partner at all levels
  • Further develop emergency preparedness together with the professional centers
  • Plan, hold, evaluate and follow up on emergency drills
  • Be crisis preparedness secretary when the crisis management staff is convened
  • Participate in the § 17.4 committee within emergency preparedness
  • Handle ad hoc tasks within emergency preparedness and security
  • Collaborate with Frederiksborg Brand og Redning.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Have relevant education and/or experience within emergency planning, security, action cards or similar
  • Have natural authority and can stay calm in pressured situations
  • Work in a structured and systematic way – even when things are moving quickly
  • Can prioritize, follow tasks through to completion and keep an overview
  • Thrive in collaborating with colleagues across disciplines and departments
  • Are good at communicating both in writing and orally – and can adapt your message to the recipient
  • Have a focus on both prevention and handling of incidents
  • Contribute to good collegial relations
  • Are curious and passionate about emergency preparedness and crisis management
  • Want to be involved in shaping your own position.

What do we offer?

We strive to be a workplace where we thrive, experience flexibility and development.

Therefore we emphasize

  • Personal and professional development through exciting tasks and sparring
  • Influence on the strategic direction of the development of the municipality's emergency preparedness
  • Dedicated colleagues with good humor
  • A flat organization with a good and informal tone
  • A good working environment and high employee satisfaction
  • Flexible working hours, so your everyday life fits together
  • A high degree of responsibility and freedom in a busy daily life
  • A really good canteen.

You will have your workplace at our modern, attractive and well-functioning Town Hall, which is located next to Egedal Station, from which there is an S-train every 10 minutes during peak hours.
