Experienced Mechanical Engineer for Team for Special Constructions

Professional community and diverse tasks

You will join the team for special constructions, located at our office on Øster Allé. You will have a daily work life with about 20 colleagues, all engineers or building designers. We have different professional backgrounds and levels of experience, and we see this as a clear strength, as it increases creativity and creates better solutions for the projects. We take pride in helping each other and making each other look good.

In the team for special constructions we identify as design engineers. We create specialized solutions primarily for the construction and civil engineering industry for a wide range of projects. Common traits for them all are that they are characterized by movable elements and/or dynamic loads - often with challenging geometries that make each project interesting and challenging. This can include movable bridges, coastal protection facilities, including sluices, pumping stations, lifting and installation tasks but also highly specialized constructions outside the ordinary.

Most recently we have carried out the following projects

• Detail design of cable service platform for a suspension bridge.
• Conversion of a drive line to a bascule bridge for road and rail.
• Transport and installation of ~700 t ship engine in test hall.
• Conversion of a larger movable bridge in Copenhagen Harbour.
• Renovation of sluice gates.
• Design of fender structures (offshore).
• Root cause analysis of a failure on a wire draw (offshore).

We work project-oriented, and typically carry out projects as either contractor or client adviser. The work is performed in close collaboration with the client and in project groups, where you will spar with like-minded colleagues as well as collaborate with engineers with other areas of expertise. We do projects that are either internally managed within the team and we also support projects in other departments in the company.

Your daily life and tasks

As our new colleague you will experience that you will get tasks you have not seen before. Therefore it is essential that you are curious by nature and see it as a positive thing to be challenged by problems and tasks that require you to move into areas you have not previously worked with.

Your daily tasks will among other things be

• conceive, calculate and dimension buildable solutions for complex constructions and machine elements with dynamic effects and movements.
• preparation of calculation reports and design documentation.
• manage and coordinate tasks and projects as project lead on medium-sized projects or as technical lead on large projects.
• execution of technical supervision.
• be a sparring partner for your colleagues - especially the younger engineers in the office.

It is important that you take pride in delivering technically strong and well-thought-out solutions with attention to detail, and that you can maintain a good overview of tasks and deadlines.

Your qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must enjoy project-oriented work. It is therefore important that you have good collaboration skills and value working closely as a team, where we achieve good results through knowledge sharing and a proactive approach to projects.

We would like you to have 5-10 years of relevant experience with large constructions and machines that form the basis of daily work.

In addition we expect that

• You are educated as a mechanical or mechanical engineer with a specialization in constructions.
• You have a good static understanding.
• Experience with hydraulics, pump technology and/or electricity and control
• You have good written and spoken communication skills in Danish and English.
• It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience with:
• FEM analysis (preferably in ANSYS, Robot or Sophistik).
• Interventions in existing constructions.
• Machinery Directive
• Eurocodes
• DNV standards.
• EN 1090
• CE marking
• Inspection and FAT/SAT

If you have qualifications beyond the above, we are open to tailoring the responsibilities to your level of experience and qualifications if it creates value for the team and projects.
