Faculty Director, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark

The Faculty of Health Sciences (SUND) at SDU is seeking a strategically strong and cohesive faculty director. You will have a central and influential role at SDU’s largest faculty: an ambitious health science environment where research at a high international level, research-based and practice-oriented education, and close partnerships with the healthcare sector create value for patients, citizens and society.

As faculty director you will be the dean's closest administrative and strategic sparring partner and a full member of the deans’ team. You will have the overall managerial responsibility for the Faculty Secretariat with about 100 staff distributed across seven administrative areas and you shall set a common direction and strengthen collaboration across the secretariat, institutes and SDU’s Shared Administration.

A key task will be to develop the Faculty Secretariat as one coherent, professional and action-oriented leadership and service organization. You must translate the faculty's strategic goals into prioritized administrative actions, ensure robust operations, financial management and management information, and actively contribute to SDU’s cross-cutting administrative leadership collaboration. At the same time you must have an eye for the faculty's diverse academic environments and geographic presence in Odense, Esbjerg, Copenhagen and on Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced leader with a relevant academic degree and solid experience from a larger, complex and politically led or publicly regulated organization. You have documented experience in leading leaders, strong organizational and financial competences and can unite secure operations with strategic development and change. As a leader you set direction, build buy-in and collaborate trustfully across.
