About the job
About the job
Do you want to contribute to strengthening health, well-being and communities through close collaboration with the area's residents and local actors?
We are looking for a committed and proactive health and well-being officer who will help develop and anchor health- and community-promoting initiatives close to residents' daily lives. The position is part of the housing-social effort in Frydenlund, Charlottehøj and Vandtårnsområdet and is established in close cooperation with Folkesundhed Aarhus in FrydenlundHUSET.
As a health and well-being officer you will be a central driving force in the work to promote physical, mental and social health among the area's residents. You will help create strong local communities and build a bridge between residents and existing health, leisure and community offers.
The focus of the effort will be to promote health equity in close cooperation with the area's residents and local partners. As a health and well-being officer you have – based on a broad and positive health concept – the responsibility to facilitate and implement health-promoting and community-building activities in collaboration with residents, colleagues and civil society actors.
You will share responsibility for the following initiatives
- Outreach health initiative with a special focus on residents who use social and health-promoting offers to a lesser extent. As a health and well-being officer you should contribute with knowledge about health-promoting and preventive initiatives, strengthen residents' opportunities to participate in local communities, and support well-being-promoting activities in the housing area. You shall bridge the gap between residents, local communities and established local health services to promote both physical and mental health, prevent loneliness and strengthen connection to local networks. The initiative is implemented in close collaboration with the housing-social volunteer coordinator, housing-social concierge and colleagues in Folkesundhed Aarhus.
- Family initiative: The aim is to strengthen families' well-being, resilience and life opportunities and support parents in creating good conditions for their children's development, learning and participation in communities. The task includes among other things family programs and a toddler café. The initiative is implemented in close collaboration with the housing-social family coordinator, colleagues in Folkesundhed Aarhus and other relevant municipal partners to increase children's and young people's life chances.
- Health and employment: You will work in close collaboration with the forward-placed staff from Job Aarhus and housing-social staff to identify and address health, social and well-being-related barriers that may hinder employment or education. Based on residents' resources and needs you contribute to developing and implementing initiatives that strengthen their opportunities to approach the labor market and achieve a more stable attachment to employment or education.
As a health and well-being officer you are thus both activity officer, bridge-builder and facilitator, and you work with a broad target group across housing areas. In collaboration with your housing-social colleagues you will also help initiate larger community-building activities such as a summer party, community meals, Eid festival etc.
You will have a local workplace in Frydenlund and in Vandtårnsområdet together with the other housing-social staff. At the same time you are affiliated with Folkesundhed Aarhus in FrydenlundHUSET, where you also have a fixed office space . Formally you are employed by Folkesundhed Aarhus, which has the overall employer responsibility. Management is conducted in a management team consisting of the housing-social leader and the head of Folkesundhed Aarhus, FrydenlundHUSET.
Working hours will as a rule fall within normal office hours, but you should expect that there will be occasional evening and weekend work.
The position is fixed-term and preferred starting 1.1.27; and runs thereafter for 4 years.
Your profile
You are passionate about health, communities and creating change together with the people involved. You have experience with health-promoting initiatives, preferably in a housing-social or cross-sector environment. You have a relevant social or health professional education and can navigate the tension between residents, municipal partners and civil society organizations.
We imagine that you
- Have a health, social or similarly relevant education.
- Have experience with health-promoting, preventive or community-building initiatives.
- Have strong relational skills and the ability to build trust among people from different backgrounds.
- Thrive in an outreach role and meet people with curiosity, respect and recognition.
- Have experience with or an interest in co-creation, citizenship and citizen involvement.
- Can work independently while also actively engaging in cross-disciplinary collaborations.
- Thrive developing and testing new solutions.
Why you should choose us
With us you have the opportunity to influence a new and ambitious initiative where health promotion, well-being and communities are developed close to residents' daily lives and in strong interaction between the municipality, housing organizations, civil society and local actors. You will become part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team in the housing-social effort, where health is combined with employment, communities and social initiatives to create holistic solutions.
At the same time you will have a close link to Folkesundhed Aarhus, where you can draw on health professional expertise, receive professional sparring and access a wide range of health services. We offer a meaningful position with great freedom to develop activities and create local solutions together with residents and partners.
You will be part of a workplace with high ambitions for well-being, participation and health equity, where collaboration, professionalism and engagement go hand in hand. At the same time you will meet colleagues who prioritise helping and supporting each other, and who value an informal tone, humor and a strong collegial community.
