About the job

Are you passionate about relationship-based work and helping people create a good life?

At Thorupgården in Nørrebro we are looking for two dedicated contact persons who want to make a difference for citizens with mental health and social challenges. With us you will become part of a workplace with high professional standards, a strong collegial culture and opportunities to develop your competences.

What a day can look like

As a contact person you work closely with citizens with complex mental health and social challenges. You support their well-being, development and path towards greater independence through relationship-based work, coordination and social-work interventions. It requires that you can keep an overview, balance care with clarity and adapt your approach to the citizens’ changing needs.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

You are responsible for the courses of your own contact citizens. This means that you prepare and follow up on individual plans and adjust them as needed. You provide social-pedagogical and practical support in daily life, e.g. with personal care, structure and activities. You support the citizens in their recovery and in living a more independent life. In addition, you collaborate with relatives, authorities and other professionals and contribute to daily operations, including medication management and collaboration with colleagues across professional groups.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant health- or social-science education, e.g. social and health care assistant, social pedagogue, social worker, nurse or occupational therapist, preferably with experience from social psychiatry or a similar area
  • are professionally grounded, curious about your own practice and open to learning new things. You thrive in a complex everyday life where you can think creatively and use your professional skills to find good solutions. At the same time you contribute to a good collegial community and are able to keep hope and good humor – even when everyday life is challenging.

We offer

Thorupgården has a high level of ambition in working with the core task of the residential institution and in creating good frameworks for citizens, staff and leadership. With us you get:

  • a professionally ambitious environment focused on collaboration with citizens, colleagues, management and coordination team
  • a working environment characterized by curiosity, openness and good mood
  • ongoing supervision
  • competence development and courses in, for example, NADA, TBT, LA2, dual diagnoses, medication management, recovery and rehabilitation

In addition there is free parking in a locked basement and the possibility to train during working hours in a newly built training room.

About Thorupgården and our organization

Thorupgården is a social-psychiatric residential facility on Nørrebro with four specialized areas and places according to the Danish Act on Social Services § 107 and § 108. In the coming years, § 108 places will be phased out gradually, meaning fewer caregiving tasks and an increased focus on social-pedagogical interventions.

Across the house we work recovery-oriented with a focus on citizens’ well-being, development and mastery of everyday life. The work includes, among other things, relationship-based work, coordination of citizen paths and collaboration with internal and external partners.

In Area 2 citizens aged 19–83 live with various psychiatric challenges. You will become part of a stable and well-functioning department with both social and health professionals, where high professionalism, professional reflection and a good work environment are central.

Our professional approaches

We work rehabilitatively and recovery-oriented with TBT and focus on citizens’ perceived quality of life. The goal is to support the individual in living a more independent life and – when possible – moving to housing with less support and a greater connection to civil society.

We base our approach on the individual citizen’s life situation, needs, wishes and zone of proximal development. Therefore we continuously prioritize professional development and adapt our interventions based on the latest knowledge.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is offered according to the applicable collective agreement for the mentioned professional groups and the contents of the position.

We offer an exciting and developmental job, where your working hours will be day and evening shifts with every 3rd weekend on duty.

The positions are to be filled by January 1, 2027. Upon hiring we will request a criminal record certificate and references.

Would you like to know more?

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact the head of department for Area 2 – Maria Rud at 23 74 12 87 or coordinator – Brian J. at 51 53 86 28.

Along with your application we ask you to attach your CV and documentation of completed education.

You can read more about Thorupgården on the City of Copenhagen’s website.

We look forward to hearing from you.
