About the job

Do you have strong writing skills, and can you “trim a case down”? Can you manage processes with many contributors and stakeholders? And do you have experience or an interest in working at the intersection of management support and process management in a secretariat? Then you may be our new colleague in the Management Secretariat in the Business area of the Tax Administration.

An exciting daily life in Denmark’s largest agency

We are seeking a process- and collaboration-oriented legal/administrative professional who, with an academic or tax-law background, can contribute to the secretariat work in the business tax area, where we support the business tax director and the other leadership in the Business area with, among other things, cases to the government, the minister and the Parliament.

The Tax Administration is part of the Tax Administration under the Danish Ministry of Taxation and Growth and counts just under 5,000 employees spread across the country. The Tax Administration is divided into seven areas, where Business is one of the larger areas with ca. 950 employees, including about 50 managers.

Business has the overall responsibility for VAT, taxes, duties and registration in relation to business enterprises and must ensure that companies pay the correct VAT and the correct taxes and duties on time. Business is also involved in many cases and areas with political focus. As examples, the Management Secretariat has, among other things, been involved in work on reduced VAT on food and the implementation of the political agreement on a Green Denmark (green tax reform).

The Management Secretariat in Business handles the staff functions in the area and supports the top management in Business, which includes a Director of the Business area and five under-directors. The Secretariat has a broad range of tasks, including management support, ministerial support, legislative hearings, financial management and strategic initiatives.

You will work close to the leadership in Business, which places high demands on your writing and speaking skills, as well as your ability to collaborate and to manage a process with many contributors and stakeholders. We operate in a complex intersection of politics, law, operations and development, so your ability to express yourself clearly and to guide a process will be essential. The quality bar for our work is high, and you will be expected to help maintain and possibly raise it.

Professional, proactive and process-strong

We envision that you have a higher education degree—preferably with a social science profile—or a tax-law background at a corresponding level. It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have 1-2 years of experience from a public authority or similar, where you have worked with management support, and/or you understand the role of an employee in a secretariat. We also welcome understanding and interest in political, organizational, and societal issues.

You will contribute to ensuring professional and timely ministerial and leadership support, including coordinating and quality-assuring hearings, political cases and other orders. You may also coordinate Supreme Audit Office investigations and support the meeting preparations for the Director of Business Tax.

To thrive and succeed in the job, it is an advantage if you

  • are skilled at writing and good at expressing yourself concisely, both in writing and orally
  • can keep an overview when there are many tasks and tight deadlines
  • are open, good at collaboration and can manage processes with many contributors and stakeholders
  • are proactive and independent in your task-solving.

About us

You will become part of the Business Management Secretariat, where we are about 20 employees, with the primary focus of supporting the overall business leadership, which consists of one Director and five under-directors.

In the Management Secretariat we value freedom under responsibility and treat each other with trust and respect. By involving people in decision-making and planning tasks, we ensure high well-being and a good working environment – that is the foundation of our work. We offer flexible work arrangements, with the possibility to work from home two days a week.

Contact and terms of employment

We look forward to receiving your application, CV and diploma via the link “Apply for the position” no later than 12 November 2026. Expected start date is 1 January 2027 or after further agreement. If you have any questions about the position, you are very welcome to contact Senior Consultant Rasmus Winther Graversen at telephone 72 37 46 08.

Before employment we will obtain references and a criminal record check. There may be a case study and a testing process with personality analysis and a logical test for applicants progressing in the process.

If you proceed to employment in the recruitment process, please be aware that we will conduct a search to see whether you have debts that have been sent to collection by the public sector. We also check whether you have resolved control and/or criminal cases in the tax and duties area. Your employment is conditional on us not finding information about you that is incompatible with employment in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth’s group.

We ensure a structured and thorough introduction program.

You will be employed under the collective agreements applicable to academics in the state (AC), the collective agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK) or the collective agreement for Officers, etc. (DTS) in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth. You will be employed in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth with its associated institutions.

The workplace is Engelholm Allé 1, 2630 Taastrup, where we have recently renovated office spaces close to public transport (two minutes’ walk from Høje Taastrup Station) and easy car access from Copenhagen and the rest of Zealand, as the highway is only five minutes away.
