About the job
Group IT Chief for the Danish Agency for Slots and Culture
The Danish Agency for Slots and Culture is seeking a strategically competent and engaged unit head for Group IT. You will take responsibility for a central IT function where stable operations, security and digital development go hand in hand. You will also play an important role in strengthening information security and translating the agency's new artificial intelligence strategy into practice.
We are looking for a leader who can set a common direction, gain support, and translate strategic goals into concrete results while navigating safely in a politically steered organization.
A central IT function with an important societal task
Group IT is responsible for the operation, management and development of the IT systems and solutions that support the Danish Agency for Slots and Culture's tasks and, on selected areas, the Ministry of Culture's overall group.
The tasks range from sector-specific systems for subsidies, collections, properties and cultural heritage to administrative solutions, financial management, ESDH, IT workplace and the core IT infrastructure.
Group IT also functions as the Ministry of Culture's common IT function and supports the ministry's 19 other institutions with common systems, as well as advisory services and supervision within information security and data protection.
You will thus have a broad collaboration surface and a central role in ensuring that IT supports the agency's and the group’s needs and is prepared for future requirements.
Security, artificial intelligence and business focus set the direction
Cyber and information security is highly prioritized in a time of an intensified threat landscape and increasing demands for data protection. As unit head you will be responsible for developing the area and ensuring a systematic, risk-based approach to security, governance and compliance with relevant requirements.
You will also play an important role in implementing the agency's new strategy for artificial intelligence. The ambition is to use artificial intelligence meaningfully and responsibly across the organization. You will therefore contribute to establishing the technical and security foundation, among other things through data classification and an appropriate use of Microsoft 365.
As part of your portfolio you will assume responsibility for a number of major projects that will ensure better digital support for the agency's and group’s core tasks, including the procurement and implementation of a new grant administration system, a new group-wide ESDH system, a new standard PC workspace, a new cultural heritage platform and a new group-wide study administration system.
Your role as unit head
You will be the head of about 25 employees, including two team leaders responsible for the operation and development of IT systems across the Ministry of Culture's group. The unit consists of dedicated staff with strong professional competencies and extensive experience.
Your main task is to set a clear direction and create good frameworks for employees and team leaders to succeed and thrive. You must ensure the balance between stable operations, development and strategic initiatives and translate political and organizational goals into concrete results.
As part of the agency's leadership you contribute to strategic development and ensure that IT supports the organization's goals.
Your key tasks will be to
- Set direction and priorities in dialogue with employees, colleagues in management and the executive board.
- Ensure stable, efficient and secure IT operations and develop solutions that support the organization's needs.
- Strengthen cyber and information security through risk management, data classification, incident management and governance.
- Support the implementation of the agency's strategy for artificial intelligence, including ensuring a solid technical and security foundation.
- Advise leadership and the ministry on IT-strategic opportunities, risks and priorities.
- Foster good collaboration relationships and ensure progress in projects and strategic initiatives.
You will solve the tasks in close cooperation with the agency's other leadership, the Ministry, the Ministry of Culture's institutions and external partners.
A clear and trusted leader
We expect that you have leadership experience from a politically steered organization and can achieve results through leaders and employees. You communicate clearly, have political insight and organizational understanding, and can prioritize and make decisions, even when several considerations must be balanced.
We emphasize that you
- have solid understanding of IT operations, system management and digital development.
- have strong competencies within cyber- and information security as well as risk assessment and management.
- can translate strategic goals into concrete actions and create momentum.
- build trust and followership and collaborate well across the organization
- understand the interplay between technology, business, governance and data protection.
- have an interest in artificial intelligence and an eye for both the technology's possibilities and security challenges.
You have a relevant higher education, for example in IT or social sciences. The decisive factor is that you combine managerial impact with strategic overview and sufficient IT expertise to set direction and make qualified decisions.
A leadership role with an opportunity to influence development
In the Danish Agency for Slots and Culture you will have the opportunity to influence the development of a central IT function of great importance to the agency's and the Ministry of Culture's task solving. You will become part of a leadership community with dedicated staff, strong professional environments and a wide collaboration surface.
You will have the opportunity to set the direction for an area where security, digitalization and responsible use of new technology are high on the agenda.
