Maybe you will do something completely different from what you usually do. Maybe you need a change from the classroom and want to use your hands. Maybe you want educational certificates that reflect the skills you have already achieved.

If you would like to take an education but go straight out to work and gain experience, Ny mesterlære is for you.

In Ny mesterlære you skip the initial basic course at the vocational school and work practically in the kitchen from day one. You also receive a salary from day one, and if you are over 25 you receive adult apprentice wages. You can start anytime as long as you have an education agreement.

Education program

Ny mesterlære program lasts ½-1 year and is taken instead of the Grundforløb (basic course) at the school.

Ny mesterlære program ends with a practical exam, which typically takes place at the vocational school and is graded pass/fail.

After you have passed the Ny mesterlære program, you have access to the main programs at the school.

The main program lasts 2½-3 years distributed over 3 or 4 internship periods and 3 school periods.

The final school period ends with the " Trade Exam for Nutrition Assistants ".

There is a three-month trial period in the training for nutrition assistant.

As a student you will work with

• Production of large quantities of food that combines culinary flair with nutritional expertise.
• Preparation of special diets for patients with different needs.
• Sustainable diet, where you work with raw material utilization and minimizing food waste.

As a student you will be offered

• Community with other engaged nutrition assistant students.
• Frequent student coffee meetings where we share thoughts and ideas.
• Professional and social theme days for the students in the Region across the kitchens.

You will become part of a team of about 50 employees, where we take good care of each other, and where there is room for differences. We consist of both young and more experienced staff.

Your working time is 37 hours per week with primary working hours from 06:30 – 14:00.

• Wishes to start in Ny mesterlære

• You are in Grundforløb 2
• You are currently in school training as a nutrition assistant student

Application deadline

There is an application deadline of November 17, 2026, and it is expected that the interviews will be held on November 26, 2026. Start no later than February 2026 and preferably earlier.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement between Danish Regions and the Nutrition & Culinary Association. Students over 25 are paid adult apprentice wages.
