About the job

Are you an experienced leader with a strong pedagogical foundation and both humor and heart in the right place? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for to our leadership team at Margretheskolen.

About the position We are looking for you who naturally balance a systematic and innovative approach in your tasks, are approachable and not least able to engage both staff, students and parents.

Together we create a leadership team where defined leadership spaces are the starting point for us to naturally seek sparring with each other across the whole school and each of us takes responsibility for our areas.

At present we are department-divided into lower primary/after-school care, middle and upper grades across the general classes and our C-classes. We would like, together with you, to be curious about whether it would be relevant to be curious about another distribution of tasks based on our combined competencies.

Your tasks As the pedagogical leader at Margretheskolen you will have a varied workday that spans a wide range. You will be responsible for the daily leadership of a staff group and their classes/grades.

Your tasks include, among others

  • Setting the framework for the best pedagogical environment for the students.
  • Sparring with staff about the learning environment and good participation opportunities for all students in a PLF culture.
  • Supporting psychological safety within the staff group.
  • Leadership of cross-disciplinary collaboration between educators and teachers.
  • Sparring with PPR and the administration.
  • Participation in the school year's planning, including the overall distribution of subjects and timetable planning.
  • General collaboration with the entire leadership team around our shared school.

Who are we at Margretheskolen? Margretheskolen is a school with a strong pedagogical direction and good collaboration with the parents. We are located in Gundsømagle, about a 15-minute drive from Roskilde. We have in total about 460 pupils and 60 staff and offer a workplace where we value cooperation, professional development and well-being-promoting initiatives.

Our group arrangement for pupils with typical abilities who have challenges within ADHD and autism is an integrated part of our overall school, both for pupils and staff.

We are a UNICEF Rights School, which means that working with the articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a recurring theme we work with.

We are now in our third school year with PLF (professional learning communities) and continue this effort together with the focus on psychological safety in our ongoing five-year plan, where the two initiatives are prerequisites for each other.

What do we expect from you? We are looking for someone who has experience with the following:

  • Innovative and engaging leadership of pedagogical teams and working with cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • To be ambitious and engaged on behalf of the students regarding their well-being, learning and development.
  • Persistently creating safety, clear direction and structure as the framework for the culture.
  • To make decisions on a reflective basis and take responsibility, also in pressured situations.
  • Progressive, clear and engaging communication and sparring both verbally and in writing.
  • To work systematically and naturally take responsibility, plan, get things done and evaluate.

In return we promise that you, as our new leadership colleague, will get

  • A defined leadership space and a place in a safe and holistic team, where we both take responsibility and naturally seek sparring with each other.
  • A dedicated, innovative and dialogue-seeking leadership team with solid experience.
  • Opportunities for competence development and further education.
  • An workplace where we value ongoing development of a good workplace and good participation opportunities for all students.
  • An exciting and varied leadership role where you have a large influence on your and the school's daily life.
  • A team where humor and joy are a natural part.
  • An workplace where we leave the computer at school when we go home.

  • Experience with good collaboration between school and home.
  • Experience in leading in a team-oriented and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
