Holmstrupgård, department Abildly, is seeking a substitute for a permanent 37-hour position as well as a maternity leave replacement for 37 hours starting 15 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

Are you a pedagogue, nurse, occupational therapist, or do you have another relevant health professional education, and would you like to help create a safe environment for children and adolescents with psychiatric difficulties so they have the best prerequisites to develop – then you might be the one we’re looking for?

Abildly Department has expanded the target group to children and adolescents aged 8-15 years, and we need two new colleagues for a permanent on-call position of 37 hours/week and a maternity leave cover for 37 hours. At Holmstrupgård we have a strong interdisciplinary environment where we emphasize cross-professional collaboration to contribute as best as possible to a good childhood.

Abildly is part of Holmstrupgård, which is a social-psychiatric treatment institution with several different 24-hour departments for children and young people. There are 8 24-hour places and we receive children and adolescents aged 8-15 at admission who are in severe psychological distress or have a diagnosed mental disorder. It will be possible for the children and youths to stay until they are 18 years old.

The target group is not limited to specific diagnoses, but is assembled based on a concrete assessment of each child’s or adolescent’s needs and the overall group composition in the department. We receive children and adolescents with giftedness within and around the normal range who have various psychiatric, behavioral and social difficulties and who need a predictable and structured everyday life.

At Abildly we work environment-therapeutically with a recognizable and structured everyday life, adapted to the age, development and needs of each child or adolescent. We have a particular focus on care, adult responsibility and on creating safe and stable frameworks around daily life.

Collaboration with parents and guardians is an important part of the effort. We wish to involve the child’s or adolescent’s close relationships, including siblings or other close relationships. We work toward stabilizing and creating frameworks around the family so that the child can, in time, return home when it is possible and relevant.

The children and youths are involved in their own pathway in a way that suits their age and prerequisites.

The Abildly staff group is multidisciplinary and includes, among others, pedagogues, nurses, occupational therapists, social and health assistants, etc. Engagement, ambitions, professional excellence and good collegiality are prominent and highly valued in the staff group.

We hire you who

• have a relevant education (pedagogue, nurse, occupational therapist or another health professional education) and experience with the target group
• show insight into the target group and either through interviews or experience can demonstrate that you can translate it into practice, and are good at using and planning your own time in a busy daily life based on the task solution.
• have the drive to be a motivator and can be persistent when the child or adolescent cannot
• are loyal to the agreed structure and practices
• are empathetic, tolerant and seek to understand the child’s perspective
• work professionally with personal authenticity
• are familiar with the use of IT and have a driving license for a passenger car

It requires a high professional understanding to work with the target group, as well as the drive to motivate and be persistent when the children and youths need it.

You will become a fixed part of the department in close collegial cooperation. You will be part of a unified team around the entire child and adolescent group. Work is relationship-based and aimed at creating safety for all children. You will participate in activities and relationships with the children and youths, and in collaboration with their relatives and in cooperation with relevant external actors. You will also participate in our organizational treatment structure and practical work around the youths, and in the department you are also part of the environmental-therapeutic effort.

Holmstrupgård is a social-psychiatric day and residential intake for children and youths aged 8-23 years with psychiatric difficulties. Holmstrupgård consists of 5 24-hour departments as well as an internal school, employment, day care and a transition facility. We offer a holistic pedagogical and environment-therapeutic treatment. Abildly Department is one of 5 24-hour departments and is located externally at Abildgade 78, Aarhus N.

We believe that the well-being for both youths and staff is conditioned by a high professionalism, and that it is in the interplay between these things that a positive development can take place. We base our work on an environment-therapeutic approach, which seeks to balance structure and relationship evenly.

Salary and terms of employment are determined according to the applicable collective agreement. There will be rotating shifts for part of the time between day and evening shifts, as well as work weekends every 2nd weekend.
