About the job

Introductory positions in the specialty of internal medicine, at the Medical Departments, are available for occupancy on February 1 or March 1, 2027 (or by agreement).

The position is 1 year.

We hope that this position is the start of your career in an internal medicine specialty. The internal medicine specialties train you to be holistic and to have a broad professional base in your medical life. In addition, you can obtain specialty-specific competencies in the subspecialties.

The Medical Departments offer most internal medicine specialties: Pulmonary Medicine, Cardiology, Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Hematology and Rheumatology.

Your introductory position may consist of stays in 2 specialties, where we will accommodate your preferences for specialty attachment. As a rule, you are attached to each specialty for 6 months, as we want you to gain a high professional return from several specialties before you subspecialize. You are very welcome to indicate any preferences for the specialty in your application.

If you already know which specialty you want to train in, we can try to accommodate employment in 1 specialty.

About us

The Medical Departments consist of four departments with four separate leadership teams, including educationally responsible consultants and educationally coordinating junior doctors. We work closely together on the training of Young Doctors and prioritize this work in daily operations.

We emphasize supervision by an experienced colleague, which enables you to handle more complicated patient cases, and to work independently.

The position is part of the medical departments’ on-call shifts in the presence rota. We have specialists in attendance around the clock, 2 back-up shifts (medical/cardiological), 2 intermediate shifts (medical) and 2 pre-shifts (medical/cardiological). We have good teamwork, and you are never alone on duty.

Your working time is divided between your base department with ward rounds, outpatient clinics, etc., and in addition on-call duties in the Joint Acute Receiving in the medical/cardiology team.

About you

  • You have completed basic training (KBU), and have an interest in internal medicine
  • You are prepared to engage in close collaboration with the department’s staff groups
  • You have an interest in gaining broad contact with other health professional specialties
  • Perhaps with a wish to try your hand at research and quality work/administrative tasks

Start date

1 February or 1 March 2027 (or by agreement).

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the agreement for Junior Doctors. The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told your base salary, centrally determined allowances and pension in the agreement 33.06.1. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. See starting salary for positions in Region of Southern Denmark
