2 introductory positions in Internal Medicine; Cardiology at Heart Diseases, Vejle Hospital, Lillebælt Hospital is available for occupancy as of 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

Who are we?

Heart diseases at Vejle Hospital form part of the internal medicine area at Vejle Hospital. We handle, together with the Medical Department doctors, the reception and treatment of acute medical and cardiology patients and have a large outpatient activity in the cardiology area.

The department, together with the Medical Department, is responsible for educating doctors at all levels – including doctors in introduction to the internal medical area as well as doctors in main training programs for the various medical subspecialties.

• Introduction to the internal medical specialty with a focus on cardiology
• Broad introduction to the area's different patient categories and subspecialties
• Experience with acute medical and cardiology patients with good support from experienced colleagues
• A good learning and working environment with a fixed weekly program for professional teaching
• Solid specialist capacity enabling good professional supervision of the department's trainee doctors
• Supervised and structured training in echocardiography

Your tasks

• You will be placed in the on-call or mid-shift according to competencies, which is why it is prioritized that you have experience in internal medicine from previous employment(s).
• On-call and mid-shift are shared with the Medical Department with support from both medical and cardiology back-up
• Daytime work in the cardiology department includes on-call duties, ward rounds and outpatient work
• There will be an opportunity to request exchange, so that part of the employment period can be linked to a function in the Medical Department with a view to introduction to the other internal medical specialties.

Employment terms

You will be employed in accordance with the agreement between Danish Regions and the Association of Young Doctors.

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the agreement for junior doctors. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
