Bispebjerg Frederiksberg Hospital (BFH) is building a new emergency house with a large shared Emergency Department planned for about 120 beds. BFH will work towards a much more integrated and shared emergency department. We are already actively implementing the Emergency Medicine specialty, which is an important lever for working with acute patients.

The Emergency Department currently consists of five areas

  • Acute Receiving's Injury and Triage Section (AKM) at the Bispebjerg campus, where we treat about 85,000 patients/year. Here we receive the most acutely medical and surgical patients, orthopedic minor injuries, and patients with general medical conditions during the on-call period outside the opening hours of their own clinic. Patients are received in all triage colors with possible subsequent admission to the relevant specialty.
  • The Emergency Clinic (AK) Frederiksberg campus, where about 35,000 patients/year are treated, open from 9:00 to 21:00.
  • Acute Assessment Unit (AVA) at Bispebjerg campus with 24 beds and an average length of stay of about 24 hours. About 12,000 patients with acute medical conditions, where rapid diagnostics are carried out in close multidisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Flex Clinic for socially vulnerable citizens consisting of an outpatient clinic with supervising functions at the hospital, an outreach function, a general practice clinic and a ward with 8 beds.
  • Research Department with broad acute medical research with a department head, a recently appointed professor, researchers, PhD students, research nurses, a project nurse and research year students

Bornholms Hospital: In addition, a partnership agreement has been developed between BFH and BOH regarding medical coverage in several different areas, including within the emergency medical area.

  • You are engaged and have an interest in Emergency Medicine
  • You are good at communicating and collaborating both mono- and interdisciplinary
