Introductory position in internal medicine at the Department of Medical Diseases, Southern Jutland Hospital, Aabenraa, in the specialties of geriatrics and gastroenterology

Medical Diseases, Sønderjylland Hospital is a large internal medicine department with opportunities for specialization in one or two of our internal medicine subspecialties. An introductory position at the Aabenraa site provides the opportunity to specialize in geriatrics and/or gastroenterology. If you are interested in one of the department's specialties at the Sønderborg site, pulmonary medicine, endocrinology and nephrology, a combination by agreement may be possible.

We see it as our core task to focus on the entire Southern Jutland population. We therefore have a focus on prevention, but also on treating patients close to home, often in their own home in collaboration with the patient, relatives, other internal medicine specialties and the municipality.

Medical Diseases Aabenraa undertakes the following functions

• Geriatrics
• Gastroenterology
• Diabetes and pulmonary medicine outpatient clinic
• Medical day hospital
• On-call duties in the internal medicine specialty at FAM

You join as a senior on-call or mid-level on-call in the internal medicine on-call team with on-site presence in FAM between 08:00 and 23:00. There is a back-up on-call for on-site rounds around the clock.

In addition, you will undertake functions such as outpatient clinic, supervision duties, ward rounds on the inpatient ward and possibly be introduced to endoscopy, depending on which specialty you wish to deepen.

• Opportunity to be trained in procedures such as ascites puncture, pleural puncture and endoscopy.
• All training doctors are offered a course in focused lung ultrasound during their employment.

In addition to carrying out individual training plans to achieve the general internal medicine competencies, there will be the possibility of additional education due to subspecialty attachment, including qualification for later main specialty training programs.

There will be opportunity to participate in research activities if this interests you.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in Subordinate doctors - agreement 33.06.1 - salary as of 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated supplements depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
