Introductory position in internal medicine at Medical Diseases, Sønderborg Hospital, South Jutland, Sønderborg in the specialties of endocrinology, nephrology, hematology and pulmonology

Internal Medicine, Sønderjylland Hospital is a large internal medicine department spread over 3 campuses; Sønderborg, Aabenraa and Tønder. An introductory position at the Sønderborg campus provides the opportunity to specialise in one or more of our internal medicine specialties in endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology and hematology. If you are interested in one of the specialties at the department's campus in Aabenraa, geriatry and gastroenterology, a combination is also possible.

We see it as our core task to have a focus on the entire South Jutland population. We therefore focus on prevention, but also on treating patients close to home, often in their own homes in collaboration with the patient, relatives, other internal medicine specialties and the municipality.

Medical Diseases, Sønderborg handles the following functions

• Endocrinology
• Nephrology, incl. hemodialysis
• Pulmonology
• Hematology
• Oncology
• Palliation (with an independent bed department)
• Medical Receiving with 24/7 emergency function, daytime hospital and diagnostic center.

You will join as a first-line on-call in the 24/7 presence ward in Medical Receiving, which is double-staffed until 23:30, and thereafter as back-up 2 in the daytime following individual assessment. There is a back-up in the presence ward around the clock.

In addition you will have a role in the outpatient clinic and possibly in the hemodialysis unit and you will participate in ward rounds on the inpatient floor.

There is an approved training program for the position. In addition to completing individual training plans to achieve the general internal medical competencies, there will be, as a consequence of subspecialty affiliation, the possibility of supplementary training, among other things with the aim of qualifying for later main training programs.

There will be the possibility to participate in research activity if that is of interest.
