About the job

Job counsellor for the unemployment area – create the path from unemployment to work

Would you like to be part of a team where we both help companies find the workforce they need – and support unemployed people in finding their way onto the labor market? Then you may be our new job counsellor in the unemployment area.

In Thisted Municipality we are looking for a job counsellor for the unemployment area who is passionate about creating the good match between unemployed and companies.

We are looking for someone who has an eye for the needs of the labor market and is motivated to translate conversations and plans into concrete results.

For us, job matching is about more than helping the unemployed to search for jobs. It's about knowing the opportunities on the labor market, thinking in new ways, and helping the individual take the next step toward employment or upskilling.

Your everyday life as a job counsellor

You will have a central role in the work with insured unemployed, where job-focused conversations, concrete job matching, and authorities duties go hand in hand.

You must be able to see the possibilities in the individual unemployed person’s competencies and at the same time understand the employers' need for labor. It requires that you are curious, proactive, and willing to challenge both the unemployed person’s assumptions and the traditional paths to employment.

Your main tasks will be

  • Carry out job-focused conversations, perform statutory tasks, and create a clear path toward ordinary work.
  • Match unemployed people with concrete job openings and work purposefully on upskilling and sector change as possible paths to employment.
  • Identify the individual unemployed person’s resources and opportunities and tailor your efforts accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with your colleagues to translate companies' recruitment needs into concrete job opportunities.

We are looking for a job counsellor who takes initiative, follows up, and keeps focus on progress. You must be able to motivate and support the unemployed, but also be clear about expectations, opportunities, and responsibilities.

We are also working on developing our digital practice. Therefore you will be an active part of the work to use digital solutions to strengthen job searching, job matching and the quality of the effort.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have experience from the employment area, preferably with insured unemployed, and that you have a good understanding of both the authorities' role and the local labor market.

The most important, however, is your approach to the task. You are focused on delivering results and know that a good conversation only really makes a difference when it leads to action.

We particularly emphasize that you

  • Are action-oriented and good at creating motivation, progress, and concrete job opportunities.
  • Have a sense of the needs of businesses, be good at collaborating, and dare to think in new solutions.
  • Are curious about digital possibilities and thrive on development, change, and professional freedom under responsibility.

You can work independently and make professional decisions, but also know that the best solutions are often found through collaboration with others.

A team with expertise, camaraderie and room for humor

You will become part of a professionally strong team. With us you are not alone with the tasks. We prioritize professional sparring, companionship and knowledge sharing, and we use each other's experiences to find the best solutions.

We have an informal tone, short distance to management, and a daily life where there is room for both professional discussions, new ideas and a good laugh.

You can look forward to

We offer a workplace where you have the opportunity to influence your own task-solving and help develop the future employment efforts.

You will receive a thorough introduction with a mentor and buddy, flexible working conditions with flexitime and the possibility of working from home, as well as good opportunities for professional sparring and development.

Have we caught your interest?

Then we look forward to receiving your application and your CV.
