About the job

Do you have a communications background, and would you like to help create good solutions for Copenhagen's youths?

As a communications consultant you will have a central role in making Ungdomsskolen's many activities and offerings visible, ranging from after-school instruction and full-time education to 10th grade and Ungeråd KBH.

Ungdomsskolen is one of the larger players in the youth sector in Copenhagen, and it is important for us that both the city's youths and our many partners have a clear awareness of the activities and opportunities we offer.

It requires that you can translate our activities and expertise into relevant and meaningful communication and ensure that we are visible on the right platforms and in the right contexts.

About the position

It is you who will be responsible for Ungdomsskolen's daily communications efforts – from idea and planning to production and publication. You translate common direction and priorities into concrete communication and ensure progress in the tasks.

It requires that you can work proactively and independently, take the initiative and possess a good amount of judgment when prioritizing your time and effort.

You will become part of a cross-disciplinary team with different competencies that work to support Ungdomsskolen's departments across the organization. Here you will have colleagues to spar with and collaborate with, but you must enjoy being the one who drives the communications task yourself.

In addition you will play an important role in handling and coordinating a number of cross-cutting administrative tasks that are part of running a municipal organization. This could include document management, consents as well as maintaining and developing procedures and workflows. You will thus also be an important driving force in ensuring that we have the systems and frameworks that support a well-functioning organization, and that they are communicated and accessible to the departments.

In the team we help each other across tasks and disciplines. You should therefore also be willing to take on tasks outside your own field when there is a need for an extra hand.

Your tasks will include

  • maintain and develop Ungdomsskolen's websites in collaboration with the coordinators
  • develop and be project leader on communication campaigns
  • record, produce and edit films and photos from our departments, activities and events
  • prepare and update graphical material and print materials
  • plan and maintain content on social media
  • support and facilitate the local departments' work with communicating the good stories from their everyday life
  • develop and maintain procedures and workflows that ensure we meet applicable requirements – and ensure that the procedures are accessible and easy to understand
  • participate in administrative tasks, including case handling and development tasks as needed

We imagine that you

  • have an academic communications education and experience with external communication – preferably from an organization with many different target groups and activities
  • have experience planning, producing and publishing content for social media and websites as well as with graphic production and photo/video
  • can drive communications tasks independently from idea to finished product
  • have a good sense of how to prioritize your time and effort. You can distinguish between tasks that require thoroughness and depth, and tasks that should be solved simply and efficiently
  • understand the framework and terms in a politically governed organization and can navigate a daily life with different interests, considerations and decision-making processes
  • have an eye for detail and also enjoy the more systematic tasks, where the aim is to create structure, maintain workflows and ensure that we comply with applicable requirements
  • have experience with youths as a target group and knowledge of the school and education sector
  • find it easy to build relationships across disciplines and functions. You meet others openly and curiously and manage to create good collaborations with many different types of people
  • actively contribute to the community, contribute ideas and roll up your sleeves where needed. You are happy to share your knowledge, help your colleagues and see yourself as part of a team where the common goal is to support the departments as best as possible

We offer

You will become part of a workplace where there is room to spread your wings and influence both the tasks and the way we solve them. You will have a daily life with extensive contact across the entire organization and the opportunity to leave your mark on how we make Ungdomsskolen's many activities and offerings visible.

You will become part of a dedicated team where we spar with each other, share knowledge and help where needed. We have an informal tone, high ceilings and a shared ambition to create good solutions – always with Copenhagen's youths at the center.

The General Department attracts thousands of students from all parts of the city each year to, among other things, after-school instruction, while our offerings within full-time education and 10th grade are aimed at youths with different needs for education and clarification.
