SPK is Langelinieskolens department for children with hearing loss and/or special linguistic difficulties

SPK is part of the overall organization Langelinieskolen and follows as far as possible the current focus areas of the general department. In addition, SPK focuses on increased cross-disciplinary collaboration between teachers and pedagogues as well as upskilling in relation to language and language acquisition, including sign language.

We currently have 16 children and nine teachers at SPK. We are looking for an engaged teacher who has major in Danish, English, mathematics and science and technology, and who is not afraid to learn new things and undertake a wide variety of tasks beyond teaching. This may for example be support for a child's participation in the community, meals, hygiene, etc. In addition, we want a teacher whose heart beats for co-creating a special education practice and professional insight for the benefit of the entire group of children at SPK.

All children at SPK have hearing loss and difficulties in relation to communication and cognition, which require an individualized pedagogical approach in a dynamic interplay between speech, visual support and sign language communication. Willingness and ability to communicate in sign language is important in the special department's linguistic environment and culture. The goal is that all our children at SPK should be part of the community, but some children also periodically need time alone with an adult.

• has knowledge of sign language, uses sign language or is willing to learn sign language
• is passionate about working in a special pedagogical teaching environment that meets the individual child's needs for learning, companionship and development
• is professionally and special-pedagogically well-founded and prepared to work in a multidisciplinary and highly specialized practice
• is prepared to work structured and inclusive based on the individual child's needs, resources and potentials
• can work independently and at the same time sees the value of a committed team effort and the broad cross-disciplinary collaboration about the children
• can work in writing

Salary and conditions of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local wage formation. In connection with the employment we obtain child and criminal records checks and take references.

The position is full-time.
