At the residence Kærvang, Midtbyen department, we are seeking a permanent awake night guard for our already fantastic night guard team. The most important task in your work will be to create the framework for a safe and calm night for the 20 residents who live at Kærvang, Midtbyen.

Bostedet Kærvang is a regional social-psychiatric residential facility for residents with severe mental vulnerability in the form of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder combined with comorbidities such as brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, overuse of alcohol or severe dementia.

Kærvang consists of 3 departments, Kærvang Midtbyen with 20 apartments and Kærvang Fjorden living room with 13 apartments and Kærvang Fjorden 1st floor with 12 apartments.

Night shift at Kærvang

As a night guard at Kærvang you will become part of a highly specialized residential facility, where there is a focus on each resident's well-being. You will work with one other colleague in the Midtbyen department. In our Fjorden departments on the 1st floor and in the Fjorden living room, there are also awake night guards. There will therefore always be opportunities for sparring across departments.

Most residents sleep through the night, but at times there may be residents who need supervision or support to find calm. There will also be various practical tasks to be carried out during the night.

We are looking for a colleague who can see themselves in the following statements

• Has good relational skills, can be present when the resident is having a difficult time.
• Is good at communicating - both verbally and non-verbally.
• Is flexible and loyal to decisions.
• Can contribute with engagement, inspiration and joy to the benefit of a good working environment.
• Has good collaboration skills and the ability for self-reflection.
• Has an overview and calm, even in challenging situations.
• Gerne experience with working at night, but not a requirement.

Salary and employment terms

There are four permanent staff members who share the night shifts among themselves. Currently, a 7-7 rotation is used.

The position starts on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible after.

The position is 37 hours with work every other weekend. However, there is the possibility of employment at a smaller number of hours if desired.

You will be employed under the collective agreement (23.03) for social and health care personnel concluded with FOA.
