Newly Created Position as Head of Professional Services for the Disability & Social Psychiatry Authority in Vejen Municipality

We are seeking a professional leader who is clear and trustworthy. We are looking for a professional leader who, in close collaboration with the area manager, can create coherence between legal compliance, professional quality, economics, and operations through systematic use of data and translate it into meaningful practice close to the advisers’ daily work.

You will be the area manager’s closest collaboration partner in the professional development of the area and will play a central role in translating the strategic direction into concrete practice in collaboration with the advisers.

Who are we?

Authority Disability & Social Psychiatry consists of a Child Disability team and an Adult team, totaling 19 social workers. The area works, among other things, with interventions under the Children Act as well as the Social Services Act, including the compensation provisions, the rules on power of enforcement in the disability area, residential facilities, social-pedagogical support, sheltered employment, escort scheme, lost earnings etc. The area is characterized by complex cases, high specialization, and a close interaction between professional quality, legal compliance, and financial management.

We prioritize professional sparring, quality, legal compliance, and development in the way we handle cases. At the same time, we emphasize a strong collegial community with room for collaboration, humor, and innovative thinking. And where a positive working environment is important.

In the adult area we are facing a transition from framework management to tariff management, in which you will have a central role in translating into practice.

Your tasks

You will become a central professional sparring partner for the advisers and must contribute to quality and development in authority work. Your main tasks will be to:

• Support consistent and legally compliant case handling of high professional quality.
• Support the implementation of new legislation, political decisions, and professional methods, and translate new knowledge into practice in close collaboration with the area manager.
• Identify needs for professional development, competence development, and knowledge sharing in the department.
• Contribute to coordination, prioritization, and engage in complex cases together with the individual adviser.
• Support onboarding and training of new colleagues.
• Carry out ongoing case reviews with the advisers.
• Handle a smaller number of cases if the need arises in periods, and be able to navigate in the professional systems NEXUS and DUBU, and work from VUM 2.0 and common professional concepts.
• Distribute new cases in both teams and chair the weekly team meetings.

You must be able to handle acute professional problems while also having an eye for long-term development. It requires an overview, strong communication skills, and the ability to create followers through dialogue and constructive sparring.

• Are a trained social worker with a solid social and legal foundation.
• Have solid experience with authority work from the specialized adult area and/or from the child disability area.
• Have knowledge of the relevant legislation in your authority area and a desire to work across areas.
• Are good at communicating complex professional knowledge and providing constructive, appreciative sparring.
• Work structurally, keep an overview, and have an eye for professional quality, wholeness, and coherence.
• Thrive with many collaborative interfaces and can navigate a daily life characterized by change and shifting tasks.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is a permanent 37-hour week with start on January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Workplace: Brørup Area Office, Stadionvej 15, 6650 Brørup.

Salary and terms of employment are set according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of Ny Løn. Salary negotiated individually.

A criminal record check will be carried out in connection with the appointment.
