About the job
The Joint Advisory Service for Children and Young People and PPR Frederiksberg is known as a professional beacon and an attractive workplace with a good balance between stability and development. It is rare that we have turnover in our leadership group, but now we are seeking a new section head.
As our new section head, you will become part of the Joint Advisory Service's leadership team and report to the Chief Psychologist. The leadership team consists of a total of three section heads and the Chief Psychologist, and we prioritise close collaboration with a high degree of shared responsibility. Since August 1, 2026, we have been testing new ways of organizing tasks and collaboration and are in ongoing development to meet new tasks, new expectations, and new legislation as wisely as possible, for the benefit of citizens, partners, and employees.
Our new section head will have managerial responsibility for two of our three PPR-psychologist teams, each with its own team coordinator, currently totalling 21 psychologists. You will lead a competent staff group that works very independently but can also be pressed by a field of work characterized by high emotional demands and a large workload. It is therefore important that you are available to your employees and can help them when needed, both in relation to prioritization and organization of tasks and in collaboration with day care facilities and schools.
PPR is part of the Joint Advisory Service, which also includes Open Access to Mental Health – the easily accessible treatment offer on Frederiksberg, Family and Youth Counseling, and Child Therapy. The Joint Advisory Service's overall purpose is to support development and participation opportunities for the municipality's children and young people. In total we are about 70 employees, and our overall portfolio of tasks is broad, which gives us good opportunities to think in holistic ways and to work flexibly.
We have many partners and a particularly close collaboration with the municipality's day care facilities, schools, and family department. All day care facilities and schools should experience collaboration with PPR as helpful, meaningful, and translatable into practice, and our collaboration must make a real difference for the everyday lives of children and young people and the educational practice around the children.
The section head's tasks include, among other things
- Staff management, including responsibility for task allocation, competence development, performance reviews, GRUS, well-being conversations, vacation, working hours, well-being and collaboration.
- Professional leadership following staff management, including guidance and supervision regarding concrete task solving and prioritization. Professional leadership takes place in close collaboration with the other section heads when it concerns tasks in day care facilities and in Open Access to Mental Health.
- Professional responsibility for PPR's collaboration with schools, across professional groups and teams. This, together with the Chief Psychologist.
- Collaboration with the leadership group and coordinators on the planning of the Joint Advisory Service's overall professional direction and concrete professional focus areas.
- Administration of selected parts of the budget.
- Mentor/consultant to the other leadership group.
We can offer our new colleague
- An ambitious and development-oriented workplace
- A skilled and stable staff group with a good sense of community and strong engagement
- Good and close collaboration in the leadership group
- Varied and sometimes complex tasks
- A large degree of managerial autonomy with plenty of influence
We are looking for a colleague who
- Is a trained psychologist
- Has experience with leadership, preferably of PPR psychologists
- Has an inclusive and trust-based leadership style and can set a common direction
- Has knowledge of and experience with PPR's core tasks, legal framework and current development trends
- Can lead in the cooperation between PPR and schools and in the transition to more preventive and community-oriented forms of collaboration
- Dreams of working on developing the core tasks, especially in light of upcoming changes in the area
- Has or wishes to commence a leadership education
- Can handle high work pressure and is good at prioritizing
- Has excellent collaboration skills
Salary and employment conditions
You will be employed under the agreement for academics employed in the municipality, and the salary will be negotiated between the Danish Psychological Association and Frederiksberg Municipality.
For further information please contact Chief Psychologist Malene Hein Damgaard: [email protected] .
The application deadline is November 6, 2026. The first interview will be held on November 11, and the second interview on November 18.
