About the job

Do you want to lead a unified youth initiative in the employment area in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality, and are you an experienced people leader who can motivate colleagues, set clear direction and follow up on activities and agreements? Then you may be our new team leader for Team Youth on the Road.

About Team Youth on the Road

Team Youth on the Road helps young people under 30 to find and maintain a path to work and education.

In the team, from 1 September 2026 we have merged case management with our internal offers to young people and a number of projects and cross-cutting activities, including Ungeløftet, Children and young people's mental wellbeing and the employment area's share of KUI - the municipal youth initiative.

The new, unified organization shall strengthen our coordination of activities, make it easier to share knowledge and create more coherent paths for the young people.

As team leader you will play a central role in translating this ambition into common practice across professional disciplines, legislation, projects and collaboration interfaces.

The team consists of 12 caseworkers, a study-start coordinator, 3 job consultants and 10 job mentors. In addition we have an employment psychologist and a project worker linked to the team.

We believe that a resource-focused and employment-oriented approach, combined with concrete agreements, communities, well-being and a belief in the individual, creates the best conditions for young people to find a place in the job market of the future.

It is a leadership task with many actors, different professional areas and several agendas. Therefore we need a team leader who can create overview, set a clear direction and maintain focus, even when new tasks and needs arise.

An experienced people leader who motivates people and delivers results

We are looking for an experienced leader who is interested in colleagues' tasks, professionalism, development and well-being.

You must be able to motivate skilled colleagues and create job satisfaction, energy and belief in the joint task and direction. You meet colleagues with trust and integrity, and you are also clear about direction, frameworks and expectations.

You know that motivation is created differently from person to person. Therefore you can both rally the team around a common direction and tailor your leadership to the individual and the concrete situation.

Your role as team leader

As team leader you shall among other things

  • Exert clear and present management with a view to well-being, professionalism and results
  • Unlock the competency potential in the new organization to benefit the young
  • Set direction and create progress in a daily life with many actors, agendas and dependencies
  • Ensure coherence between the authority task, our offers, the projects and the cross-cutting youth efforts
  • Support high quality in case processing and maintain a continuous focus on progression towards work or education
  • Establish clear frameworks for task solving and support colleagues' professional judgment
  • Create strong collaboration relationships internally in the organization and with relevant external partners
  • Contribute to translating political and strategic goals into meaningful practice
  • Use data, professional knowledge and the perspectives of the young to monitor development and adjust the effort
  • Actively contribute to the joint leadership task in the job center so we succeed across teams and departments

Leadership with room for initiative, decision-making and action

In the employment area in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality we work with co-leadership. This means that as much initiative, decision-making and action as possible should lie with the employees and leaders who work closest to the core task. We believe that the smartest and most durable solutions are found close to the meeting with our citizens and businesses.

As team leader you must therefore both stand clearly for direction and priorities and give colleagues space and courage to take initiative, test ideas and learn from experience.

You must be able to facilitate rather than instruct and achieve results through culture, relationships and shared responsibility. At the same time you must be visible and clear when employees need managerial support or direction.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Are a strong motivator who can create energy, job satisfaction and belief in the common direction
  • Have solid experience with people management and master the disciplines in daily leadership tasks
  • Have a clear personal drive and can translate ambitions into action, progress and results
  • Take initiative and have perseverance to complete and finish what you and the team start
  • Create followership through clarity, integrity and authentic communication
  • Can build trusting relationships with employees, leader colleagues and collaboration partners
  • Thrive in complexity and can maintain overview and calm when different considerations and interests must be balanced
  • Can handle difficult leadership situations respectfully and timely
  • Work analytically and data-informed without losing sight of the individual young person
  • See collaboration across as a prerequisite for success
  • Have a relevant educational background and preferably knowledge of employment, education or youth sector

It is essential for us that you are a skilled and experienced people leader. You do not need to know all professional details from the start, but you must be curious and able to acquire sufficient professional knowledge to facilitate meaningful dialogues and make good leadership decisions.

What you get with us

You get a meaningful leadership task with great opportunity to influence the development of our joint youth effort in the employment area.

You become part of a leadership community in the job center, where we have a strong ambition to be together to succeed, and where the shared task weighs heavier than organizational boundaries.

With us you get

  • A central role in developing a more coherent effort for young people
  • Dedicated colleagues with different professional backgrounds and a strong focus on the core task
  • A leadership community with focus on collaboration, presence-based leadership and shared results
  • An organization in motion, where there is a need for both stability, secure operations and the courage to change
  • An work environment characterized by trust, responsibility, flexibility and joint task solving

Kulturblomsten is our common starting point for how we meet each other, the citizens and the businesses. At the same time we work with the basis in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality's employee and management framework and with a sustained focus on developing the good meeting with citizens and businesses.

Would you like to lead Team Youth on the Road?
