Nurse / Social and Healthcare Assistant for maternity leave cover in open ward 174/176, Glostrup Psychiatric Center.

Our two good colleagues are in the fortunate position of expecting a child. Therefore we are seeking a nurse/SSA for a 10-month maternity leave cover in each of our two well-functioning open units – so, if you are interested in psychiatry, become part of a strong community with high professionalism.

Unit 174 + 176 are open psychiatric units with space for 19 and 20 patients respectively. We receive people with all kinds of mental disorders. Our patients are admitted to an open unit and require treatment, care and support during their stay. The length of stay is individual and discharge is planned when the individual’s condition allows other professionals outside the hospital stay to take over the treatment.

You will work from a Recovery-oriented approach with milieu-therapeutic and cognitive methods. We strive to create the best framework for both patients and staff. With us, patient involvement, kindness, curiosity, professionalism and collaboration are keywords.

Staff groups at both units are engaged and with a wide mix of experience, age and background. We value professional sparring, development, good laughs and a daily routine where we strive to do our best for our patients.

We have a strong focus on maintaining a good working environment at all times. We systematically use wellbeing measurements to safeguard good conditions for the unit’s staff. Recently we have focused on initiatives to improve nursing staff’s opportunities for deepening and concentration by reducing interruptions at work.

Your tasks will include

• Contact person function for a group of patients
• Execution of interventions related to individual patient and treatment plans
• Medication dosing – and administration; (SSA must have medication competence)
• Collaboration with colleagues and multidisciplinary staff on the individual treatment course
• Collaboration with patients’ relatives and networks
• Collaboration with outpatient and cross-sector actors to support continuity in patients’ trajectories
• Occasionally acting as nurse in charge
• Participation in practical tasks related to daily operation in the unit

• You are a nurse or SSA with Danish authorization and have an interest in psychiatric nursing

• You work with respectful and clear communication, where you adapt your approach to the individual patient’s needs and situation
• You are professionally well-founded and motivated to develop the professional quality of nursing

Salary and employment terms

We offer a maternity leave cover to start as soon as possible and for 10 months. The position includes mixed shifts and weekend work every other weekend.

Depending on education, employment will be in accordance with the agreement for

• non-supervisory staff in the health cartel area with salary placement as nurse
• social- and health care personnel covered by the agreement between RLTN and FOA with salary placement as social- and health assistant

The units are manned around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement/working time rules in the collective agreement.

Unit 174 + 176 are located at Nordstjernevej 41, 2600 Glostrup and are part of the Psychiatric Center Glostrup, Amager and Hvidovre Hospital.
