Nurse with experience or interest in psychiatry and addiction at Unikahuset

Do you want to use your nursing expertise to create coherence, security and quality of life for people with complex needs? Do you have experience or interest in psychiatry and addiction as well as knowledge of recovery? Then you may be our new nurse at Unikahuset at Rosenlund Pleje Homes.

We are looking for a professionally engaged nurse who sees the whole person and can unite somatic nursing with an understanding of mental disorders and substance misuse issues. You will act as the key coordinator of residents' health-related interventions and contribute to the home's professional development in close collaboration with residents, colleagues and management.

About Unikahuset

Unikahuset is home to 28 residents. The house contains general nursing home apartments, and most residents live with mental disorders and/or substance misuse issues, often in combination with somatic illnesses and social challenges.

We work with person-centered care and aim to strengthen a recovery-oriented approach. This means that we start from the residents' own wishes, hopes and resources and support their opportunities to live a meaningful life on their own terms.

It requires respect for self-determination, strong relationships and persistent effort – also when the resident's choices challenge our professional judgments.

We work systematically with resident conferences, professional reflection, interdisciplinary collaboration and competence development. Our focus is to create a stable and professionally founded everyday life with room for each resident's life.

Rosenlund is a music care center, and our music therapists contribute to contact, well-being and quality of life, also in complex resident pathways.

A strong professional community

Rosenlund consists of four departments with an attached on-site nurse in each department. In addition there are two evening nurses. You will become part of a nursing network with six nurses and will work closely with the daily managers, the education-responsible nurse, the development nurse and the dementia counselor.

We have established systematic sparring in the nursing group and continuously develop our practice. You must therefore thrive in sharing knowledge, guiding colleagues and contributing to learning for both employees, students and trainees.

Your tasks

As a nurse you will have a key role in ensuring and developing the quality of the nursing care provided at Unikahuset. You will among other things:

• Coordinate care and treatment of residents with complex somatic, psychiatric and social issues.
• Contribute to a recovery-oriented practice where the resident's own goals, wishes and resources are actively included in the efforts.
• Build trusting relationships and support residents' involvement and self-determination.
• Observe and respond to changes in residents' physical and mental condition and follow up on treatment and medication.
• Coordinate resident pathways in collaboration with the nursing home doctor, treatment psychiatry, addiction treatment and other relevant partners.
• Identify and manage complex and palliative pathways in close collaboration with doctors, therapists and relatives.
• Be a professional role model and mentor for the SOSU group and work with training, delegation and competence development.
• Support the quality of nursing documentation and implement professional guidelines.
• Participate in resident conferences, professional sparring and development work.

We expect that you

• Are a trained nurse with experience or special interest in psychiatry and the addiction field.
• Have knowledge of recovery and are motivated to translate the approach into concrete actions together with residents and colleagues.
• Have a solid nursing professional foundation and an understanding of the interplay between somatic disease, mental illness and substance abuse.
• Work person-centered and meet residents with respect, curiosity and an understanding of their life story.
• Can balance respect for the resident's self-determination with your health professional responsibility.
• Work independently and systematically and at the same time seek sparring when needed.
• Have a desire to teach, guide and create professional development together with others.
• Are calm, clear and trust-building in collaboration with residents, relatives and colleagues.
• Are interested in relevant further or continuing education, e.g. a diploma module.

• A position of 37 hours per week, primarily day shifts.

Rosenlund Pleje Homes houses 140 apartments across five units with different profiles within somatics, dementia, respite care and younger residents with mental and social challenges.

As a music care center we actively use music to support community, relationships and quality of life. Our three music therapists are an important part of this work.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the current collective agreement with DSR and the principles of Ny Løn (New Pay).
