Do you want to lead an experienced and engaged nursing team – and at the same time help shape the outpatient patient pathway of the future?

Our long-serving chief nurse is retiring, and we are therefore looking for a new chief nurse for the Lung Cancer Investigation and Endoscopy Clinic at the Gentofte site.

Here you will take the leadership of two well-running outpatient areas with high professionalism, motivated staff and a strong focus on good and coherent patient pathways. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to influence ongoing development in your own way.

You will have an experienced workforce with great engagement

You will lead about 20 skilled and experienced nurses who are passionate about their profession and about creating the best possible pathways for patients and relatives.

The employees have a strong ownership of the core task and a high degree of independence in daily work. They actively contribute with their professional expertise and experience and want a leader who is curious about their perspectives, provides clear direction and, together with them, develops both professionalism and patient pathways.

Everyday life is characterized by encounters with patients who are often in a serious and life-changing situation. This demands a high level of professional competence – but also care, presence and collaboration. At the same time, we are a workplace where there is also room for humor and for laughing together during the day.

A leadership role with both autonomy and strong colleagues around you

You will have a position with great autonomy and good opportunities to shape the development of an important outpatient area.

You will also become part of a well-functioning chief nurse group where we prioritise sparring, help each other and actively work on joint leadership development. On the same site you will have a close chief nurse colleague who will be an important collaboration and sparring partner in daily work. In addition, you will be part of a well-functioning multidisciplinary management team that works well and constructively together on the tasks.

You will also have close collaboration with the Chief Nurse, the leading consultant, the functionally responsible senior physicians and the rest of the leadership group in the Department of Medical Diseases. The Chief Nurse has her primary daily routine at another site, and therefore you will have both space and mandate for independent leadership – while having close access to sparring and leadership support.

An important task will be to help develop the Future Ambulatory. We must think new solutions, workflows and patient pathways, while maintaining safe operations, high professional quality and patients' rights.

Who are you?

We imagine that you already have leadership experience and are motivated to lead talented staff who both can and want their profession.

You do not need to know the lung medicine specialty in advance. The most important thing is that you are curious about the professionalism and eager to learn the area, the staff and the patient pathways thoroughly.

As a leader you are visible, accessible and clear. You take an interest in people and relationships and at the same time you are able to set direction, prioritise and make decisions. You can inspire followership – even when something needs to change.

Experience from outpatient operations or the lung medicine field is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are also interested in you if you come with strong leadership experience from another clinical area and want to apply it here with us.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is full-time and is preferred to be filled on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

Your pay and employment terms Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are trained in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must, when employed in the Capital Region, meet the language competence requirement* in Danish. *Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are trained in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must, upon employment in the Capital Region, have passed a Danish test (Danish Education 3, corresponding to the 9th grade final exam) or at least be able to pass the test within 1 year after employment, or have achieved equivalent Danish language skills in another way.

The Danish test must be passed with at least the following grades: • spoken communication with a grade of 10 • reading comprehension with a grade of 7 • written expression with a grade of 7
