We are looking for a new pedagogical leader for a lovely children's house in Jyllinge. A leader who will take the helm on January 1, 2027, as the current leader of the children's house will sail the world.

About Børnehuset Arken

Børnehuset Arken's physical premises are good, but there is room to further develop the pedagogical layout. Both indoors and outdoors there is plenty of space for play and immersion. Arken's 90 children are distributed across two baby groups and three kindergarten groups. In the middle of the house is a large common room that frames joint activities and communities across the spaces.

As the pedagogical leader you will become a central part of everyday life in the house and have the responsibility to create a safe, developing and inclusive environment for children, parents and staff.

Your leadership profile We are looking for a leader who has strong relational skills and can translate that ability into interactions in daily life. In addition, Arken needs a leader with a sense for systematics, follow-up and appropriate delegation. It is an advantage if your leadership style is characterized by working with clear goals, prioritization and planning. You should be able to consider and involve both the children's needs, staff well-being and the overarching municipal framework in your decisions.

Leaders who succeed often have the stamina to stay with complex problems until they are solved – for the benefit of the community and with respect for those involved. We therefore want to find a leadership profile that approaches challenges constructively and flexibly, works pragmatically and remains positive about solving tasks.

About the task The task as pedagogical leader requires that you have solid experience with everyday life in a kindergarten and a desire to lead both operations and pedagogical development.

You should therefore be interested in

• drafting good work schedules, vacation planning and meeting coordination. Hereunder ensuring that funds for preparation time benefit the staff so as to raise the pedagogical quality for the children,
• ensuring a well-functioning cross-disciplinary collaboration with parents, psychologists, speech therapists and other professionals around the pedagogical efforts
• being a leader of the work environment for Arken's staff and work systematically with well-being, feedback and job satisfaction

Arken and All Children’s Daycare Børnehuset Arken participates in the national quality development program All Children’s Daycare, where we work purposefully to strengthen quality in both the children's learning environments and the staff's work environment. As a pedagogical leader you will be an active part of this work and participate in a strong focus on developing daycare leadership that lifts everyday life for both children and staff – through systematic reflection, common professional direction and clear follow-up on our efforts.

Leadership in Area North In Roskilde Municipality’s Area North, the leadership team focuses on creating daycare of high quality while also creating attractive workplaces for staff. This balance requires that you, in close interaction with your area leader, can make good decisions that create quality for both children and staff.

We emphasize present leadership that works purposefully and systematically, and leadership that takes responsibility for one’s own leadership well-being. This means that all leaders in Area North focus on organizing their work so they have the human capacity to solve tasks and provide good leadership for the benefit of both children, parents and staff. This focus requires both good discipline and a trusting interaction with the area leader to prioritize the right tasks at the right time and set a realistic pace for task completion.

Time for the core task High professionalism and pedagogical quality are essential to succeed with the political ambition to create strong communities for all children and young people, and this requires time and space for immersion, reflection and collaboration for the pedagogical staff. In Roskilde Municipality it is politically prioritized that all houses are allocated preparation time.

The preparation time should give staff the opportunity to work more systematically with the core task, and at the same time create better conditions for professional development, well-being, job satisfaction and strong communities – without compromising children’s time and staffing levels.

Interviews will be held on October 29 and November 5. If you progress to a second interview, a profile analysis will be made between the interviews, outlining your strengths and working methods.
