About the job

Become a companion/support for a young, home-living woman in Charlottenlund

Are you passionate about creating safe environments for people with autism who need pedagogical support in daily life? Do you have pedagogical experience and a heart in the right place? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for for a position as a pedagogical support person, where you together with a colleague will cover the shifts during the week. The position averages 14 hours per week, and you get a good opportunity to plan your shifts!

About the client

You will become part of the daily life of a 19-year-old woman with autism, which means she can sometimes have "meltdowns", for which she receives PRN medication.

She generally needs a structured and predictable daily routine, which is why pictograms are also used in the work. She loves watching films, being on an iPad, and helping with small activities such as baking. There can be ongoing consultation with the other staff member regarding planning of the days.

There is a clear work plan, so you can quickly feel confident in your tasks!

As the main task, you pick up the woman from school, after which you drive home together and have the rest of the day at home. In the weekend, all support takes place in and around the home.

Job content

The position involves pedagogical support in daily life and on weekends and may include

  • Watch films and do cosy activities together
  • Accompany to/from different things such as dentist visits
  • Accompany to/from school
  • Help with structure and predictability in daily life
  • Preparation of afternoon snack

Important considerations

  • You must always have your phone on you, as you need to be able to contact the mother if a "meltdown" occurs
  • You need to have a car, as you will accompany to/from things by car
  • You must have experience with autism

Training

  • There will be mandatory training, where you will first speak with the mother regarding expectation alignment, and then you will join your colleague at work for the first few times.
  • In addition there will be ongoing sparring – and staff meetings

Working hours and place and organization

  • Working days and times are: primarily Monday, Tuesday from 12.30-16.30 and every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 12-16. The shifts will be shared with your colleague, and you agree (either on an ongoing or fixed basis) between yourselves when you can work.
  • The total weekly working time is therefore around 14 hours.
  • The workplace is Charlottenlund.
  • As an employee of Olivia Danmark you will be covered by a collective agreement with FOA. There will be pay according to qualifications.
