About the job

Would you like to help make society resilient to future threats by expanding knowledge of the Danish Agency for Civil Protection & Emergency Management's areas of expertise? Do you want to drive analytical processes and do you also have experience with data, surveys, interviews or mappings? Then we may have the right position for you!

Welcome to

The Danish Agency for Civil Protection (SAMSIK) works every day for Denmark's security. We support authorities, businesses and citizens in preventing and handling the threats that society faces, and we play a central role in coordinating national crisis management.

Your role and your tasks

You will become part of the Data and Analysis Office, which aims to support the agency's knowledge-building and decision basis through data backing, information gathering, analyses and investigations within the agency's areas of expertise. Our analyses are applied-oriented and range from finished analysis reports and sub-studies to analytical contributions and data processing in larger projects that are anchored in other offices. In the office there is a focus on good collaboration and opportunities for professional sparring and development.

As an analyst you will be part of the Analysis Team, which solves analytical tasks within several different areas, where data plays a significant role. You must both lead the processes and also personally contribute to the analysis work. You will need to work closely with the office's Data Team, but also be able to take on lighter data tasks yourself. In addition, you will contribute to the office's tasks, which may include responding to inquiries, writing case files, driving processes, attending meetings, etc.

As an employee in the office you will, among other things

  • draft sub-studies or analysis reports in cross-cutting collaborations within SAMSIK's areas of expertise, including for example critical infrastructure, security of supply and civil protection
  • contribute to method development and maintenance of analysis tools and models, including developing and working with data sets, surveys, mappings and evaluations
  • advise colleagues on method choices and tools.

We work closely with other offices in the agency and external actors, and you will therefore need to navigate broad collaborations with many stakeholders and contribute to clarifying and developing interfaces to other analytical work and tasks across the agency.

About you

We are seeking an employee with a strong professional foundation and good analytical sense. You have an educational background at the master's or candidate level, e.g. cand.scient.pol. or cand.scient.soc. The right candidate can be newly graduated or have several years of relevant professional experience. It would be advantageous if you have experience with working in a politically governed organization and/or have worked with societal security.

In addition, we imagine that you

  • are process-strong with a focus on bringing solid professional results into practical use as effectively as possible
  • have experience with analytical methods, including data collection, statistical modeling, surveys and the like
  • have a systematic and thorough approach to processes and task solving, including with regard to involving relevant colleagues, quality and time management
  • can communicate complex analyses in an easy-to-understand way, both orally and in writing
  • have knowledge of one or more of the agency's areas of expertise.

It is important that you are curious, proactive and not afraid to go new and unknown paths. You are also exceptionally good at collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. You must be able to ensure progress and follow tasks through to completion, while thriving in an environment with a mix of deep engagement and short, urgent tasks.

Salary and terms of employment

Classification is determined by qualifications and experience. Salaries and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable state employment agreement. The employment area is the Ministry of Civil Security and Emergency Preparedness with its associated institutions. It is a condition of employment that you can be security-cleared to the classification level CONFIDENTIAL and can maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

The position is a permanent full-time role and is desired to be filled as soon as possible.

Your fixed workplace is the Danish Agency for Civil Protection, Datavej 20, 3460 Birkerød. The Agency also has an office at Østerbro.
