About the job

Would you like to help ensure that foreigners staying illegally in Denmark return home? And can you see yourself juggling tight deadlines in a cross-disciplinary environment where you must collaborate with internal and external stakeholders? Then you now have the opportunity to become our new colleague and create a daily life with a wide range of exciting tasks.

Your new workplace

You will become part of the 2nd Repatriation Office, which among other things handles cases concerning the removal of rejected asylum seekers and foreigners who have been administratively expelled from Denmark. We carry out the physical removals, we advise on departure in the Refugee Appeals Board, and we participate in meetings with foreign representations. We are also responsible for handling the support opportunities offered to foreigners in connection with their departure.

The 2nd Repatriation Office is part of the Repatriation Agency, which focuses on a novel and proactive approach to the removal area. You can learn more about the Repatriation Agency here.

Your duties

You will be attached to our detainee team. Depending on your profile and background, your tasks may include, among other things:

  • process cases concerning a foreigner’s departure – from the decision to depart to the removal being carried out
  • conduct interviews with foreigners and plan the actual departure, including collaboration with the police, the public prosecutor, the Danish Prison and Probation Service, lawyers, foreign authorities, embassies, etc.
  • prepare preparatory material for the public prosecutor in connection with appearance/deadline extensions in court
  • ensure continual progress in your own case portfolio
  • advise on departure in the Refugee Appeals Board

In addition to the above, your tasks may also include on a long-term basis

  • participating in coordinating and negotiating work with foreign representations
  • ensuring the foreigner’s departure
  • participating in escorted removals to third countries

As a legally authorized official, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to hearings, including parliamentary responses.

About you

You have a relevant educational background, and it is an advantage if you have experience from the asylum/immigration area or with concrete case processing.

In addition, we expect that you

  • are curious, hardworking and proactive
  • are professionally proficient and have a flair for case processing
  • work in a structured way and thrive under tight deadlines
  • are keen to work with people in difficult situations
  • have good collaboration skills and can work across authorities
  • have experience with, or an interest in, immigration, EU, and administrative law

We can offer you

Our main office is located in Birkerød with a direct view of the forest, and here you will have a fixed workplace with about 25 dedicated colleagues with different educations and tasks. We offer you a diverse and exciting everyday life with good opportunities for professional challenges in a politically governed organization that is always evolving.

Our tone is informal and we prioritize a good collegial community and working environment. We focus on creating good conditions for well-being and work-life balance, and we can offer flexible working hours, the possibility of telework, a gym, and a massage scheme.
