About the job
A hospital and health care in rapid development The hospital and health care system is at the forefront of rapid development with the health reform. At the start of 2026, Psychiatry became part of Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital, and from 2027 the hospital will take over a number of previously municipal tasks, which will lead to another expansion of the organisation with a department for Citizen-Centric Health.
As a result of this growth, we are undergoing a reorganization, which means that we will need you as a professional coordinator to assist with the professional leadership of the Payroll Function. In addition to payroll administration tasks, the Payroll Function also handles a number of tasks within the financial area, primarily carried out by the Payroll Manager.
Your tasks will have the main emphasis on payroll administrative tasks. The position will also involve financial tasks, including audit and attendance profile calculations. You will, together with the Payroll Manager, also play a central role in developing task execution and workflows in the team.
In connection with the core service, which consists of payroll administration, you will both be a working part of the payroll team and have an additional professional responsibility as the payroll team's professional coordinator.
In both contexts you will have a close collaboration with the Payroll Manager, who has the overall and personnel responsibility for the team.
Your profile You can recognise yourself in the following statements
- I am collaborative and take active responsibility for a well-functioning team collaboration
- I take responsibility, am motivating and good at creating support
- I have a strong ability to create an overview, optimise workflows and organise task solving in an efficient way
- I work systematically and structurally, and ensure that tasks are followed through
- I contribute with sharp analytical skills, and focus on high professional quality in task execution
- In daily work I am positive, solution-oriented and actively contribute to a good working environment
- I am outgoing, have a good sense of humor and contribute to a respectful and constructive collaboration with colleagues and collaborators
- I have a broad interest in and understanding of both legislation, dissemination, economy and communication
- I have good technical understanding of processes and possess solid IT skills, which I use to support and develop task solving
Are you our new colleague in the Payroll Function, then send your application by 9 November 2026 . Your daily life in the Payroll Function In the Payroll Function the day-to-day life is characterised by good energy and a high level of activity.
Our core service in the payroll area primarily consists of training hospital managers and other users in relevant systems/tools and rules (working time rules and the holiday agreement) as well as payroll controls and obtaining refunds. In addition, we maintain the payroll technical structures, e.g. user management and organisational structures.
We also play an active role in ongoing financial follow-up, have fixed data deliveries and continually develop new reports and analyses to support the organization's management and leadership.
We are regularly in a situation where we need to implement new IT systems or IT updates. Currently, as a result of the health reform, we are facing the need to integrate new staff into the hospital's organization.
As a professional coordinator in the Payroll Function you will also become a fixed contact person for a number of clinical departments, and you will participate in various topic-oriented project and working groups.
Your tasks
- As a professional coordinator you will spar with the payroll consultants in connection with the core service, and you will also coordinate training of any new staff
- You will in this context also become the contact person for some of the hospital's clinical departments and will need to advise and support the departments' managers, planners and other key personnel
- In connection with the core service there is also a dissemination/communication task both internally in the payroll team and to our other partners
- In consultation with the Payroll Manager you will contribute to updating and maintaining procedures, including budgeting, preparing attendance profiles (calculating payroll cost for a given shift composition) and tasks within the auditing area
- You will generally contribute to developing task handling and workflows in the department
- You will also handle various ad hoc tasks
Your personal qualifications
- You have an economics-oriented education at bachelor level, alternatively an HD or diploma education
- You have theoretical or practical experience within the payroll and HR area and preferably familiarity with payroll administration – preferably within the Health sector including knowledge of collective agreements, working time agreements and legislation

- You have good communication skills and can convey professional knowledge clearly and understandably
- You have a good system understanding including preferably knowledge of the SD payroll system, and generally good with IT
