About the job

Would you leave your mark on Thy? We are looking for a project manager for civil engineering projects

Do you have a technical background and a desire to work with civil engineering projects that make a difference in everyday life? Do you thrive with responsibility, collaboration and the opportunity to follow a project from its earliest ideas to the finished facility? Then it might be you we are looking for.

In Thisted Municipality we work with a wide range of civil engineering projects that develop the infrastructure and create good conditions for residents, businesses and visitors.

We are looking for an engaged colleague for Civil Engineering and Infrastructure, who is willing to take responsibility for their own projects and become part of a professional community where we help each other find good solutions.

Your tasks – from idea to reality

As a project manager you will have a diverse everyday life with the possibility to work on both small and large civil engineering projects. The projects range from roads, bike paths and traffic safety to bridges, port facilities and other infrastructural facilities.

You will play a central role as client and help drive the projects through planning, design, procurement, execution and handover.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

  • Plan, coordinate and carry out municipal civil engineering projects.
  • Fulfill the client role and collaborate with advisors, contractors and authorities.
  • Ensure progress and keep track of finance, schedules and quality.
  • Prepare tender materials and participate in contracting and contract management.
  • Engage in dialogue with citizens, landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute with professional assessments and decision basis.

You will have great autonomy in task solving, but you will never be alone. We emphasise professional sparring and good collaboration across the organization.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are educated as a road engineer, civil engineer, building designer or have another relevant technical background.

You may already have experience with project management from a municipality, a consulting firm or the contractor industry. But you can also be relatively new to the field and want to develop yourself as a project manager.

The most important for us are your technical understanding, your engagement and your ability to take responsibility and get things done.

We especially emphasize that you

  • Have an interest in civil engineering projects and technical solutions.
  • Can create overview, structure and progress in your tasks.
  • Are good at collaborating and communicating with different people.
  • Take initiative, think in solutions and follow the tasks through to the end.
  • Want to learn new things and actively contribute to the community.

You do not need to know all processes in a municipal organization in advance. We will help you with that. You must have a driver's license for a regular car, as part of the work is carried out on the municipality's roads.

What can we offer you?

With us you get a job where you can see the results of your work in reality. You are part of creating solutions that become part of everyday life in Thy for many years to come.

  • Exciting and varied civil engineering projects with great significance for the local area.
  • Responsibility and influence over your own projects from idea to completed facility.
  • A professional community where sparring and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life.
  • Opportunity for professional and personal development regardless of your level of experience.
  • An informal tone with room for professional discussions and good humor.

You will become part of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure in Thisted Municipality. We work closely with other areas and external parties to develop and maintain the municipality's physical framework.

Does this sound like something for you?

We would love to hear from you! We are curious about what you can contribute both professionally and personally. You do not need to be able to tick all the boxes to apply.
