Substance abuse counselor sought for Center for Alcohol and Substance Treatment

Are you interested in and experienced in the substance misuse field?

The Center for Alcohol- and Substance Treatment (CAS) is a multidisciplinary treatment center with its own statutory authority. We offer a wide range of treatment options within both the Health Act § 141 and § 142 as well as the Social Services Act § 101.

We see ourselves as a service that is developing, and it is important that you thrive in development and change. We are facing a relocation, expected in the first half of 2027, just as we continuously work to adjust and optimize our treatment pathways and our organization.

Organizationally, we are in a process of establishing new multidisciplinary teams. Until now, our treatment efforts have been organized in a health-oriented team and two social-care teams. In connection with the planned relocation, we will create two multidisciplinary teams across health- and social-care professionals, with social workers attached to each team.

This is a major organizational change that you will become part of, and you will also play an active role in creating even more holistic and multidisciplinary treatment pathways and efforts for our citizens. Until we have established the multidisciplinary teams, you will be part of our substance misuse team.

Multidisciplinarity and the collaboration between health-care initiatives and social-care initiatives in CAS regarding the individual citizen and our treatment offers are generally something we would like to improve further. Therefore, it is important to us that you view collaboration and the use of others’ professionalities as a natural part of your work.

We are looking for you who

• Have a relevant social- or health-care basic education. We prioritize applicants with relevant therapeutic continuing education
• Have experience with substance misuse treatment
• Are able to independently plan systematic and targeted treatment courses both individually and in group therapy.
• Are flexible and can adapt to tasks and content
• Can see the value in working multidisciplinary with colleagues internally and externally
• Are used to systematic documentation and see it as an integrated and important part of the treatment task.

Practical

We offer flexitime, but you should expect at least one longer working day on Monday or Thursday – until 19:00 – weekly, as some of our treatment activities take place late in the afternoon/evening.

The position is 37 hours per week with start date 1.12.26

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement. Please note that a criminal record and child-suitability check will be obtained in connection with employment, just as we also obtain references before offering employment.
