About the job
As our new Service Manager in Data and BI you will play a central role in building and developing the service function around Region Syddanmark's Data Warehouse and BI platform. You will have the opportunity to shape processes, collaboration forms and operational communication – and help ensure stable solutions and good experiences for the data users.
You will be the link between administration, development, operations and suppliers and have the opportunity to influence both collaboration forms, processes and the future service organization.
Your tasks
As service manager you will have a central role in creating a robust BI governance. You are the one who ensures incidents and service inquiries are handled in a structured way, that operational information reaches the right people, and that the collaboration between Data and BI, Regional IT, suppliers and all our users works in practice. You will have the opportunity to be close to daily operations and at the same time contribute to building and improving the processes and workflows that will carry our new platform in the longer term. Your tasks will include:
Ensure a comprehensive overview of operational and service activities
You collect information about current and planned operational tasks, so that we internally in Data and BI have a clear picture of what is ongoing and what dependencies there are to Regional IT and external suppliers. You help coordinate so tasks do not fall between two stools.
Ensure timely and targeted operational communication
You write and issue brief and clear information about operational disruptions, planned changes and other conditions affecting the use of BI solutions. You translate technical descriptions into language that is understandable for hospitals, staff and your management.
Coordinate service and operational matters during changes and releases
You participate in planning of releases and changes that affect the operation. Here you contribute with coordination, service perspective and communication, so changes are implemented as gently as possible for users.
Develop and maintain service processes
You help establish and further develop common workflows for incident-, problem- and change management, including responsibilities, escalation paths and collaboration between Data and BI, Regional IT and external suppliers.
Ensure documentation, follow-up and continuous improvement of service processes
You document significant events and sequences, so that afterwards we can see what happened and which actions were taken. You contribute with suggestions on where processes, collaboration or information can be strengthened based on experience.
Your profile
You have experience with coordination, service management or operations-related tasks – preferably from an IT organization. You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you must understand how IT services are delivered and how different professional functions work together to ensure stable operations.
- has knowledge of or interest in service- and operations processes (e.g. incident-, change- and release management) and can work systematically with them. It is an advantage if you have experience with ITIL-based processes or are ITIL certified, but it is not a requirement.
- has understanding of what Data Warehouse and BI solutions are, and how errors and changes can affect users – without needing to have a technical background as a developer
- writes clearly and precisely and is good at translating technical information into short and understandable operational messages
- enjoys collaborating across disciplines and organizations and can coordinate and follow up on tasks, even when you do not have formal responsibility for the involved employees
- works in a structured way and would like to help build a new function where processes, workflows and responsibilities continue to be developed
- has a sense for documentation and can contribute to us working according to agreed procedures and continuously improving them
