About the job

Skilled social- and health assistant sought

Are you looking for an exciting job where your professional knowledge and contribution regarding medication administration and health-technical tasks can make a difference for a group of children and young people, all living with a cognitive impairment and other developmental disorders?

We are looking for a skilled Social- and Health Assistant for up to 37 hours per week in the Residential and Respite Care Offering Tankefuld.

We are a 24-hour facility with 15 places, either providing full care or offering respite care for short or long durations for 32 children and young people aged 3-18/25 years.

Our expectations of our new Social- and Health Assistant

As a social- and health assistant in the Residential and Respite Care Offering Tankefuld, you will become part of an engaged team anchored around the lives and everyday life of the children and youths. Your task, in collaboration with the dedicated staff, is to create the framework for a meaningful life with as much independence and influence over your own life as possible. We work from a resource-focused and everyday rehabilitation approach, where a structured and recognizable everyday life, as well as developmental interventions, form the framework in the lives of the children and youths.

Your colleagues will include social educators, pedagogical assistants, care helpers, Social and Health Care Assistants, an occupational therapist, and pedagogy and PAU students, so you must be able to stand strong in your own professional practice. As a person, we expect you to be curious and willing to learn your colleagues’ professional skills, who are equally keen to learn new knowledge from you. And although we represent this broad professional palette, we all share a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of the children and youths.

We have a close, inclusive collaboration with parents, schools and educational settings, as well as general practitioners and specialists, and it is important that you as a future employee can see the value in this cross-cutting collaboration and, through dialogue and sparring, can contribute to upgrading our initiatives.

We expect you to be educated as a social- and health assistant and to come with a strong professional profile, meaning that you contribute with reflective considerations regarding health, medication management, tube feeding, hygiene, and well-formulated and up-to-date instructions for use by all staff in the facility. You will also be responsible for the theoretical training of new staff in medication handling. You may have experience from a 24-hour facility or with individuals with lasting physical and mental functional impairment.

You can expect from us

You will become part of a workplace with a strong culture, wonderful colleagues, good well-being and a good working environment, where we are passionate about lifting together. We prioritize developing ourselves together - among other things through professional supervision, development conferences, and by being open and honest in dialogue with one another, because we believe that that is how we improve together.

Your position will consist of a little over half of the time shifts where you participate in staffing, and the remaining time will be beyond the norm to allow for observations, sparring, and follow-up on health- and medical-related tasks, and as a regular participant in the various team meetings.

There will be close, appreciative and valuing follow-ups with the manager, focusing both on creating a constructive framework around your professional expertise and on the added value of cross-disciplinary collaboration.

We are a facility with a strong professional focus. We are organized in the Center for Children, Youth and Families, which has a common systemic narrative and solution-focused foundation. This means that we have an inclusive collaboration with the child’s network, and a strong focus on how we use language – both verbally and in writing.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the specialized children and youth area, every day makes sense: we take pride in supporting children and youths to live an independent life, even when the starting point can be difficult. We can sense and see that we make a difference for the individual and for society, and that creates pride and motivation.

We insist on high professional standards, even when we are busy. With us you will work in a strong interdisciplinary community that grows from all of us contributing with our own specialized professionalism.

You are not alone. In dialogue and collaboration, we help each other find good and proper solutions. Even on difficult days we take care of each other and insist on a good work environment .
