About the job

Are you a trained SSA and have experience with or a desire to supervise and train students? Are you interested in the adult disability field and looking to become part of an interdisciplinary and competent team? Then it might be you we are looking for!

We are seeking a trained SSA either with the supervisor training or a willingness to undertake the training. We are looking for a good match for our residents and the rest of the staff group. We offer a permanent position of 37 hours/week with a mix of day and evening shifts, as well as every 3rd weekend.

Parkhuset is a newer residential facility for 12 adult residents with psychological and physical developmental disabilities. The facility houses residents aged 18-65 and is organized in the Adult Disability section within the Social Department. Parkhuset is part of Botilbuddet Alderslyst, which is a 24-hour care facility.

About the job

The residents' needs for support are individual and the support is organized through interdisciplinary efforts, based on self-determination, structure, safety and care. We work according to a guiding principle called “everything with the resident” as far as possible.

The needs for support may relate to communication, self-care, health-care tasks, practical tasks and social relations. All residents have an action plan, where the goals help set the direction for daily work.

There is an expectation that staff can contribute to supporting professional approaches and methods. For this we use KRAP (KRAP), Sign to Speech (Tegn til Tale) as well as social- and health-science interventions as the platform for daily work.

We work in close collaboration with the residents’ guardians/relatives, daytime activities, therapists and case managers to ensure a holistic approach.

We place a high emphasis on the working environment, where the ability to communicate and collaborate across disciplines is highly valued. At Parkhuset we all work together with the overall effort around each resident and contribute across our respective professional fields.

There is systematic documentation work as well as a structured approach to medication management and ensuring the residents' needs.

You are the right person for the job if you

  • Are a trained SSA and ideally with a supervisor-education or a willingness to undertake the training.
  • Have experience with health-care tasks and practice.
  • Are engaged and positive in your approach to your fellow humans.
  • Are flexible and reliable.
  • Focus on residents' resources and needs.
  • Can stay calm and maintain overview and act independently in the work.
  • Have can-do attitude and a positive and appreciative view on life and people.
  • Have a valid driver’s license

We can offer you

  • A thorough introduction to the house, the residents and the tasks.
  • A versatile workplace where we strive to create the best framework and conditions for the residents' lives and everyday life.
  • A life-affirming workplace with room for laughter.
  • A workplace focused on professionalism with the resident's resources at the center
  • An active and exciting area of work with ample opportunity to develop professionally and personally.
  • Close collaboration with guardians and relatives.
  • Close collaboration with good colleagues in a interdisciplinary team.
  • Professional sparring and learning.
  • Opportunity to work with Sign to Speech, KRAP, sensory profiles, etc.
