About the job

Do you have plenty of go-getter spirit, do you thrive in navigating complex situations, and are you passionate about making a difference for socially vulnerable people? Then you are the one we are looking for to join our dedicated team.

Based on an approved budget from January 2027, we in the Social Department's Unit for Temporary Interventions are now seeking 2 case workers in permanent positions and 1 case worker for a 2-year period, until the end of 2028. All positions are 37 hours per week.

About the job

In the Social Department we work from a recovery- and rehabilitative approach. This means that we collaborate with citizens from their perspective, wishes and goals. You, together with engaged colleagues, will help set the professional direction and, in close collaboration with citizens, residential facilities, substance misuse center and contact persons, contribute to finding good solutions for the individual citizen. You should be willing to participate in developing our methods, including testing new ways of conducting follow-up meetings.

In this position you will manage the provisions of the Social Services Act for the specialized adult area for citizens who have various psychiatric challenges, are affected by substance misuse and/or find themselves in a socially vulnerable position. Your role as a caseworker becomes central when clarifying support options and coordinating citizens’ various interventions across areas to ensure a holistic and integrated plan. You will primarily make decisions about social-pedagogical support, temporary housing and substance misuse treatment.

You must be able to identify the citizen's needs and wishes, and initiate the process towards a more independent life for the individual citizen. You should be able to incorporate voluntary interventions and services in civil society as a natural part of the dialogue with the citizen.

Your workday will offer many different tasks – from advice and guidance, planned follow-ups, urgent inquiries, clarification of the citizen's support needs and coordination of external collaborations with both professionals and the citizen's network.

In short, you will have a varied day with a great responsibility for planning and carrying out your tasks, and with a team of colleagues who are always ready to help and spar with you.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Holding conversations for assessment, follow-up and advice for citizens over 30 years and citizens in the 18-29 age group who are granted pension or flex-job
  • Preparation of assessments according to VUM (adult assessment method).
  • Ongoing documentation in the form of journal notes, recommendations and decisions about social-pedagogical support, day services, temporary housing and substance misuse treatment (Social Services Act sections 85, 101, 103, 104 and 107).
  • Authority follow-ups on ongoing interventions in close collaboration with the citizen and the municipality's own services.
  • Establishment of good collaborative relationships with citizens and relatives, psychiatry and other actors.
  • Participation in network meetings and responsibility for meeting coordination.

About the department

The Unit for Temporary Interventions consists of 17 caseworkers and a manager. Your closest colleagues will be 10 caseworkers, who are physically located at Frederiksberg Town Hall.

In the Social Department we are currently completing a development program ”The Citizen at the Wheel” in collaboration with the Danish Agency for Social Affairs and Housing, which has contributed to strengthening our recovery-oriented and rehabilitative approach across authorities and providers, and all employees have undergone a competence development program in the LA2 method (low arousal). Our ambition is to support citizens in achieving the greatest possible independence and mastery in their lives.

We are in close dialogue with citizens about their wishes, hopes and dreams, and this is the starting point for case processing, with a clear focus on the individual citizen's development opportunities. We use VUM 2.0 for mapping and assessment of inquiries and work from a solution-focused approach (LØFT).

We value cross-disciplinary collaboration and are in close dialogue with the municipality's advisors in Social support and home guidance, our substance misuse center and our own residential facilities. Written communication takes place in an IT-supported professional system, Sensum, which helps ensure a fast and dynamic collaboration with internal partners.

We imagine that you

  • Are educated social worker, social facilitator or have another relevant education
  • Have experience working with citizens with substance misuse problems
  • Have knowledge of and preferably experience with citizens with challenges within the autism spectrum
  • Can handle working with citizens in complex, vulnerable and exposed situations.
  • Have good communicative and relational skills, as well as strong collaboration abilities.
  • Meet challenges with an open mind and stand ready to adjust your plans for the workday when something urgent arises.
  • See value in and smile at our differences and the mistakes we all make.
  • Are open, seize the task and find a solution to the problem.
  • Are curious and do not sit with folded hands waiting for your manager to tell you what to do.

We offer

  • An informal and healthy work environment with good colleagues with high professionalism and great engagement.
  • A team where there is room for humor and camaraderie.
  • Group-based professional supervision.
  • A workplace that emphasizes professional sparring and knowledge sharing with colleagues, professional consultants and close management.
  • Flextime and the possibility of remote work.
  • On-site fitness center.
  • Easy access to both bus and metro.
  • And not least a nice canteen in a lively building.

We promise that we will welcome you warmly, provide thorough onboarding and ensure you are brought on board.
