About the job

Would you like to be our new colleague

Social-educational employee sought from January 1, 2027 for a residential facility for normally intelligent young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality.

Melagervej is a newer residential facility, started on September 1, 2022, for young people with ASF and comorbidity aged 18-29, under the Social Services Act § 107, needing support of a low to moderate level. The facility has 7 residential places/apartments distributed across two stairwells and, in addition, a shared apartment.

The target group includes young people who are expected to actively participate in a collaboration with the service to strengthen their skills and independence.

The aim of the residential facility is for each young person to achieve as equal, independent and meaningful a life as possible. Through individually tailored support, developed in close interaction with the young person, we work towards the young person being able to move into their own housing.

The team currently consists of four full-time employees. The team works closely together to support the development process of the young people, including ADL activities, accompaniment functions, contact with public authorities, maintenance of education/internship/employment, etc. Each of us acts as a contact person for 1-2 young people, and we are also very team-oriented, so everyone in the team shares a common responsibility for the daily life and operation of all the young people.

There is a lot of outreach work, and there can be quiet periods during a workday.

The framework for working hours is primarily between 9-20 on four weekdays; however Friday 9-17 and Sunday 11-16. The starting point is that we work on weekdays and typically in shifts of 6-9 hours.

You should expect to have 2 evening shifts per week and every fourth Sunday. Additionally, some holiday periods must be covered.

Furthermore, employees on a rotating basis can be available by phone for a young person outside normal working hours after agreement, if there is a need for it. This occurs infrequently.

There is, as with the other offers under the Center for Social Initiatives, a continuous focus on developing the initiatives so that they align with the young people’s needs. This includes that flexibility in the services should be continuously strengthened. At Melagervej we constantly keep an eye on the young people’s needs together with them so that the service feels relevant for the young people, their families, and our partners.

Melagervej is an execution unit under the Center for Social Initiatives’ Youth Department. In the Youth Department there is a desire for shared responsibility and a much closer and more binding collaboration between the executor and the authority.

We are seeking the following in our prospective employee

  • Has a relevant social, health-care or pedagogical education
  • Has experience and knowledge within the autism field
  • Has good written skills and is secure in the preparation of documentation, milestones and pedagogical action plans
  • Has good collaboration and relationship skills both at group and individual levels
  • Can work independently and is engaged, responsible and respectful
  • Can join a small team in a few square meters
  • Is a team player; can participate in close team collaboration involving, among other things, thorough information exchange at the detail level and continuous expectations alignment
  • Is flexibly oriented both in relation to work with the young people and in relation to working hours
  • Is prepared for that the tasks are varied and also have a practical character
  • Can be a good role model for the young people
  • Is clear, calm, persistent and punctual
  • It would be advantageous to have knowledge of KRAP, as it is a method we work with at Melagervej

We offer

  • That you become part of an exciting development process with ongoing professional development
  • A strong professional and engaged team
  • Weekly team and staff meetings
  • Influence on the planning of the work
  • An inspiring and development-oriented workplace
  • A daily life with opportunities to develop both professional and personal competencies
  • Supervision focusing on both the team and the young people
  • A team that pays attention to each other’s well-being
  • A house full of wonderful young people

There is a permanent position of 37 hours.

In the Center for Social Initiatives, we have found that diversity is a strength, and we therefore encourage all qualified applicants, regardless of gender, age and ethnicity, to apply. Furthermore, there is a general policy that new employees must present a criminal record. Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement.
