Respirationscenter Syd (RCS) at Odense University Hospital is seeking a specialist doctor or senior physician with an interest in chronic respiratory failure and advanced respiratory care. We imagine you may be a specialist in anesthesiology, pulmonology, or another relevant specialty, but your interest in the area and desire to develop the function are most important.

About Respirationscenter Syd

Respirationscenter Syd is one of Denmark’s three highly specialized respiration centers and handles diagnostics and treatment of adult patients from the Region of Southern Denmark with chronic respiratory failure and sleep-related respiratory disorders (Special guidance for Anesthesiology – as part of highly specialized functions).

The center works closely with Respirationscenter Øst and Respirationscenter Vest and provides treatment including non-invasive ventilation, invasive home ventilation, and related highly specialized treatment pathways.

The work spans broadly and includes advanced respiratory physiology, patient pathways, ethics, rehabilitation, caregiver collaboration, and organizational development.

About the position

You will become part of a small, specialized environment with a high degree of professional autonomy and the opportunity to shape both clinical practice and the future development of the field.

A substantial part of the task is to create coherent patient pathways and develop solutions that enable more patients to receive treatment and support in their own homes. RCS is currently undergoing a transformation to shift a large part of the training from hospital admission to taking place in patients’ own homes.

There is great flexibility in the composition of the position. Depending on your competences and wishes, there may be the possibility of part-time work or a combination with roles in other departments at OUH or at Svendborg Hospital.

”Respirationscenter Syd stands before an exciting development in the coming years. The plan is for the center, in conjunction with General Plan Svendborg, to move to newly refurbished and up-to-date facilities at Svendborg Hospital. The final timeline has not yet been determined.”

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement. The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position:

You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the Specialist Doctors 33.04 agreement or the Young Doctors 33.06 agreement depending on your starting point. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
