About the job

Are you passionate about giving children and young people in vulnerable positions a helping hand into an active leisure life? Do you have knowledge of and interest in club life and positive communities for children and young people – and are you good at working with a structured focus on coordination and talking to many different people? Sports Development in the Culture, Leisure and Citizen Service Administration is seeking two student assistants for respectively FritidsGuiderne KBH and for the Contingent Support Scheme for children and young people.

About Sports Development

Sports Development is a professional unit in the Culture, Leisure and Citizenship Service Administration in the City of Copenhagen. We work to make more Copenhageners active in sports and culture through collaborations and partnerships with associations, self-organised communities and other actors. The department hosts a number of sports-social initiatives aimed at ensuring that more children, young people and adults in vulnerable positions have the opportunity to participate in an active cultural and leisure life.

About both positions

As a student assistant in Sports Development you will have a day with many points of contact, and you will both work independently on tasks and join in close collaboration with your colleagues. The tasks require that you can build trust with families from different backgrounds and needs, and that you can navigate a broad field of actors.

You will become part of a dedicated team with both consultants and other student assistants, and we place a strong focus on sparring, knowledge sharing and joint development of the initiatives. Everyone works to make a concrete difference for children and young people’s participation in positive communities.

Student assistant for FritidsGuiderne KBH

FritidsGuiderne KBH is a bridge-building initiative that works to give children and young people aged 3-17 in vulnerable positions a helping hand to get into a leisure activity.

As a FritidsGuide you will be a central part of the effort to strengthen children and young people’s access to leisure communities. You will support families throughout the bridge-building process – from the initial contact and clarification of the family’s wishes and needs until the child is well placed in a relevant leisure activity. The task requires a structured and persistent approach as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with families and partners.

Your tasks will be

  • conducting bridge-building processes, where you guide children and families into leisure activities
  • telephone and written guidance on possibilities in the Copenhagen leisure life
  • coordination with associations, coaches and professionals around start-up and attachment
  • participation in outreach work, including visits to families, day-care institutions and leisure offers
  • communication and possibly presentations to partners – including in relation to the Social Administration, school club weeks, etc.

Student assistant for the Contingent Support Scheme

As a student assistant for the Contingent Support Scheme you will handle the administration of the municipality’s contingent support scheme aimed at children and young people aged 3-17 from economically disadvantaged families.

Together with a consultant in Sports Development you will help ensure that the grant funds reach the right children and that the applicant associations receive the right help and guidance. The task requires a systematic approach and a high level of service towards the involved parties.

Your tasks will be

  • processing applications, including commitments and disbursements
  • telephone and written guidance to associations, professionals and parents about the possibilities and the framework of the scheme
  • contributing to ongoing methodological development and financial follow-up
  • ongoing coordination with FritidsGuiderne on applications

We are looking for

For both positions it is a requirement that you are an active student in a higher education and have at least two years left of your studies.

Particularly for the student assistant position at the Contingent Support Scheme it is important that you have experience with working systematically in Excel and can keep an overview in large amounts of data.

In addition we place emphasis for both positions on the following

  • are interested in club life and various sports and leisure opportunities
  • have good collaboration skills and thrive in an outward-facing role with a broad contact surface, where you are in dialogue with many different people by phone, written and in person
  • work in a structured way and keep an overview – even in a busy daily life
  • can advise and communicate in both Danish and English in writing and speech
  • are a clear and empathetic communicator who is passionate about making a difference for the families we collaborate with

Employment terms

The positions are 15 hours per week and are desired to be filled in early January 2027.

The workplace is Sports Development, Culture, Leisure and Citizen Service Administration at Nyropsgade 3, Copenhagen V.

Work may occur outside normal working hours, as we collaborate with associations and volunteers – particularly relevant for the position at FritidsGuiderne KBH.

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement with the City of Copenhagen and within the framework of local pay setting.

We obtain child protection clearance and references in connection with the hires.
