Student job: Business Intelligence consultant

Are you keen on digging into data and making it tell a story? Our partner sits on large volumes of business-critical data that no one in-house has time to put into a system today. You will therefore have free rein to build their first real BI solution from the ground up, without a formula to follow.

Who is Cand?

The student job

The position is anchored in a smaller tech company that develops software solutions for the Danish healthcare sector. You will have close ties to the technical team and will especially collaborate with the employee who currently handles accounting-related data, depending on which part of the task you work on. Fundamentally, the role is about building a new Business Intelligence foundation from the ground up.

What makes the role special is the freedom to shape the solution yourself. There is no fix-it-all for how BI work should be approached. You help define both data, structure and presentation from day one. Your first major task will be to determine which data are truly relevant, and how they are best communicated to the company’s customers through a new customer-facing portal. Along the way you will also touch on the actual system development, if it matches your profile.

The role suits you if you are curious about data and motivated to build something from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Build the company’s Business Intelligence solution in Power BI
• Identify and structure relevant data
• Develop a customer-facing portal with various key figures
• Collaborate with the technical team on which data should be exposed and how
• Ongoing sparring with internal stakeholders on prioritization of data and features

The company

Our partner is a Danish tech company that develops software solutions for clinics, specialists and private hospitals in the Danish healthcare sector. The company is established and has existed for almost ten years, with its headquarters in the Copenhagen metropolitan area and a smaller satellite office outside Copenhagen. There are currently around 20 employees and the company expects to grow significantly in the coming years.

You will become part of a small, flatly organized team where most colleagues are developers, and where there is a short path from idea to action. Several former students have become permanent employees in the company, and the position therefore provides a solid foundation for a career in Business Intelligence and digital product development.
