About the job

Nurse sought for the ENT Surgery Ambulatory and Sleep Center North.

Do you want a diverse and exciting everyday life, where you have the opportunity to work with different patient pathways in both a highly specialized ambulatory department and Sleep Center North? Then perhaps it is you we are looking for.

In the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery Department we are seeking an engaged and professionally grounded nurse for a permanent position of 37 hours per week with commencement on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.

About the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery Department

You will become part of an engaged and competent team in the ENT Surgery Department. The department handles tasks within the surgical area, the ambulatory clinic and Sleep Center North. We are about 45 nurses and two social and health care helpers, who in daily work collaborate closely and cross-functionally with doctors, medical secretaries and audiology assistants. We place great emphasis on a well-functioning collaboration and on the patient experiences coherence and quality throughout their entire pathway.

Annually we receive about 12,000 patients in the ambulatory clinic, 900 patients in Sleep Center North and 4,000 patients for operations. The ambulatory clinic consists of nine outpatient rooms, of which one functions as an audiometer room and one as an emergency room. As a nurse in the ambulatory clinic you work closely with a physician and are part of a fixed team around each ambulatory room. Together you handle today’s program and ensure that patients experience a coherent and professional course.

Patients come for diagnostic evaluation, treatment and follow-up for issues within the entire ear, nose and throat area. The patient group spans from children to adults, and the patient pathways can be planned or acute. We also receive patients daily in cancer pathway programs. These pathways are coordinated in close collaboration with our well-functioning cancer office, where a nurse-led cancer coordinator acts as the link between clinical practice and administrative coordination of the patient pathways.

The surgical department consists of four operating rooms, where both elective and emergency surgeries are performed daily within cancer surgery as well as general ENT surgery.

In Sleep Center North there are attached three ambulatory rooms where patients with sleep apnea are diagnosed, treatment is started and followed up at subsequent controls. In addition, we have two telemedicine tracks, where there is among other things an option to work from a home office. Working in Sleep Center North therefore provides the opportunity to follow patients over time and develop a special expertise in sleep-related problems. Work in the sleep center is primarily a nursing track where you have all the patients yourself.

In the ENT Surgery Department, nurses work across different specialist functions. This means that the nurses either have roles in both the ambulatory clinic and the surgical department or in the ambulatory clinic and as a sleep nurse. The current position is an cross-cutting role between the ENT Surgery Ambulatory and Sleep Center North, and we therefore seek a nurse who wishes to develop their competencies in both areas.

Working hours in the ambulatory clinic and the surgical department are on weekdays from 07:45 to 15:15. In Sleep Center North, working hours are generally from 07:45 to 16:00, and on some days the hours can extend until 19:00.

We are looking for a nurse who

  • preferably has experience from a specialty or an ambulatory clinic – but this is not a requirement
  • can work independently and at the same time actively participate in the multidisciplinary collaboration
  • is flexible, responsible and has a proactive approach to task solving
  • can maintain overview and calm, even when the situation is busy or unpredictable
  • thrives in a department with a high patient flow and many different and exciting tasks
  • is professionally engaged and eager to contribute to development and quality assurance of our clinical practice
  • actively and constructively participates in change processes
  • contributes positively to a good work environment, community and job satisfaction
  • is passionate about good nursing and focuses on creating safety, presence and a good relationship – also in the short encounter with the patient.

We offer among other things

  • a well-structured introduction and training program that starts from your competencies and experiences
  • engaged and skilled colleagues with a high degree of nursing knowledge and experience
  • a strong and well-functioning multidisciplinary collaboration
  • an exciting and diverse job with both independent and cross-disciplinary tasks
  • opportunity to develop your competencies within both ENT nursing and sleep nursing
  • a workplace where professional development, quality and a good working environment are highly prioritized.

We hope you can see yourself as part of our department, and we look forward to receiving your application.
