About the job

Do you want to work somewhere where relationships, professionalism and meaning are the most important things in everyday life?

where you don’t just get a job – but become part of a community you want to be part of over time? Then it might be you we are looking for at Ward 3 in the Psychiatry Department at Gødstrup.

Are you newly graduated or new to psychiatry, we offer you an introductory position.

With us you will become part of a ward where we prioritise professional development, collegial community and psychological safety in everyday life, and we put it on the agenda. We help each other, share knowledge, speak openly about what is difficult, and constantly work to develop both our professionalism and our workplace.

We know that you don’t become proficient alone, and that a good working life is created in community.

We work deliberately with attraction and retention . We want to be an employer that nurses actively choose to join, and that employees want to be part of for many years. Therefore we work with onboarding, supervision, professional development in everyday life, influence on working hours and dialogue about how work-life can fit with different life phases.

About Ward 3

Ward 3 is a specialized inpatient ward with 28 beds, where we assess and treat patients with affective disorders and personality disorders. We also have two places for treatment of eating disorders.

We work with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods, including TMS and ECT treatment, and we work cross-disciplinary with a focus on coherent and meaningful patient pathways.

From 1 May 2026 we will receive patients directly on the inpatient ward, which is an exciting development and places new demands on our professionalism, collaboration and organisation. The Psychiatry Department is also organizationally integrated with somatics, which provides new possibilities for collaboration and holistic treatment based on the Fundamentals of Care as a framework for psychiatric nursing.

We are a staff group with both new and experienced colleagues, and we share that we are professionally engaged, take responsibility, set directions and, in collaboration with clinicians, work to create the best conditions for our admitted patients. At the same time we place great emphasis on having a good time with each other and enjoying our work.

Professional development in everyday life

With us, competency development largely concerns what happens in daily work.

You learn through onboarding, training, supervision, reflection with colleagues and experience in working with patients.

With us you don’t become proficient from one day to the next – you become proficient over time. We emphasise that you get to grow into the role, feel secure in your work and develop professional pride in psychiatric nursing.

We prioritise supervision, sparring and training highly, and you will gradually take on more responsibility and new roles as you become ready for it.

Onboarding and retention

We know that a good start matters a lot for how well you fit in. Therefore we work structured with onboarding and onboarding conversations, where we together with you follow your development, well-being and learning.

We focus on you becoming part of the community, becoming confident in the tasks and experiencing that you develop professionally. The goal is not just that you start with us – but that you want to stay and develop with us.

We offer

  • Thorough onboarding and introduction
  • Individually tailored introductory program depending on experience
  • Mentor scheme
  • Interdisciplinary supervision
  • Onboarding conversations
  • Influence on your own duty roster
  • Focus on balance between work life and private life

If you are newly graduated or new to psychiatry, we offer you an introductory position; you can read more about introductory positions here.

A working life that can fit different life phases

We know that working life changes throughout life. In some periods you may need to work more, in other periods less. Some have small children, some pursue further education, and others may need flexibility for other reasons.

With us we focus on dialogue and opportunities to arrange the work so that work life and private life can fit together – and so you can maintain your connection to the workplace through different life phases.

Who are you?

You are curious, engaged and meet people with openness and respect. You don’t need to be able to do everything from the start – the most important thing is that you want to learn and want to work with people with mental illness.

We希望 you to

  • Be a trained nurse/advanced practice nurse in psychiatry
  • Have interest in and/or experience with psychiatry
  • Have good collaboration skills
  • Have humor and contribute positively to the community
  • Be able to maintain calm and overview when situations sometimes escalate
  • Be keen on professional and personal development
  • Be passionate about nursing and help raise the professional quality in the ward

Nurses have the role of person in charge in the evening, night and weekends, and you will be trained in this function.
