Technical Sales Engineer - Production Engineering Consulting, Costing and International Sourcing

Can you translate a technical drawing into the right production process – and into a well-developed calculation and a competitive offer? Then you might be our new technical sales engineer.

Stantræk A/S is seeking a mechanical engineer or equivalent production-technical profile who will combine strong technical expertise with commercial responsibility. You will be the link between our customers, our own production and our international production partners – with a particular focus on our partners in China.

The role

You understand the customer's technical needs, assess and advise on the right production process and translate this into commercially attractive solutions and calculations – from the first inquiry to ongoing production.

You start with close technical sparring and training from our current responsible person. The training starts from the company as a whole: from the outset you become an active part of our daily activities – including handling and quality assurance of our products – and thereby build a solid knowledge of our processes, products and customers.

You will gradually grow into the role, parallel to contributing to the other parts of the business, and in time it is expected that you independently function as a technical and commercial sparring partner for the customers and take over the commercial responsibility for the collaboration with our partners in China.

The position is created based on positive development in the business, which creates a need to strengthen the organization broadly.

Your primary tasks

• Technical and commercial responsibility for selected customers and new leads
• Production-technical advisory on the choice of optimal process, material and manufacturing method
• Preparation of calculations and pricing based on drawings, processes and supplier prices
• Sourcing of topics (parts) from our international production partners, especially in China
• Negotiation and dialogue with customers on price, delivery, quality and solutions
• Coordination with suppliers and subcontractors – including visits to our partners in China
• Onboarding of new topics from inquiry to ongoing production
• Project management of customer projects and internal optimization tasks
• Handling and quality assurance of products from both own production and external partners
• Support in case of deviations, complaints and technical issues
• Contributing to cases, LinkedIn and other relevant marketing activities

Your professional foundation

The role requires solid understanding of production processes, materials and tolerances. We work among other things with stamping (manual and CNC), laser cutting, bending, stamping, metal and injection molding, vacuum forming, CNC turning, CNC milling and box build. You do not need to be a specialist in all processes, but you must be able to advise customers technically qualified on production choices.

Your profile

• Mechanical engineer or equivalent production-technical education
• Solid technical understanding of production processes, materials and tolerances
• Strong commercial sense, good business acumen and ability to compile well-structured calculations
• Ability to take customer responsibility and work structurally with project management
• English at a high level
• Willingness to travel – expected 3–4 trips annually to China of about two weeks each
• Readiness to learn and ability to collaborate closely with our current specialists
• Handling of international supplier dialogues and ambition to gradually take independent commercial responsibility
• Strong cultural understanding, humility and respect in collaboration with Asian suppliers and partners, including respect for local work practices, relationships and business culture
• Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate at eye level across all organizational levels – from top management to operational production
