About the job

Cyber threats are serious, and Denmark is daily hit by cyberattacks. At the Agency for Civil Protection and Security (SAMSIK), we work to ensure a strong defense against the threat. Therefore we are seeking new colleagues who will contribute to the work of building a strong and effective cyber operations center, which can effectively help prevent, detect and manage serious cyber incidents and play a central role in national cyber crisis management.

The position

Do you want to help design and develop the foundation for Denmark's future national cyber preparedness?

The Agency for Civil Protection and Security (SAMSIK) is in the process of building a new operational cyber capacity and a cyber monitoring network. We shall establish modern solutions to detect attempts at cyberattacks, locate vulnerable systems before they are compromised, and identify attack techniques. These solutions will form the foundation for the national cyber picture and must support both analysis, incident handling and the development of new operational cyber capacities.

We are seeking a specialist who will become the business owner for the Sensor and Scanning Systems area. You will be a key person in the development of the future solutions and have a strong influence on how we build our technical capabilities in the coming years.

The position is not a classic operations role. We are looking for a specialist who can translate operational needs into concrete technical solutions, challenge existing methods and think creatively. You will help define which data we need, how it is collected, and how automation, analytics and new technologies can strengthen the national cyber effort.

The area of responsibility includes to

  • be the business owner for SAMSIK's upcoming sensor and scanning capabilities.
  • define needs and requirements for future sensor and scanning solutions.
  • contribute to the design and implementation of new technical capabilities in close collaboration with architects and systems specialists.
  • develop concepts for data collection, automation and monitoring.
  • ensure that collected data supports analysis, threat assessments and incident handling.
  • enter into dialogue with companies and authorities regarding sensor installation and scanning.
  • enter into dialogue with suppliers and contribute to requirement specifications and procurements.
  • keep up with technological development and identify new opportunities within AI, sensor technology, scanning, automation and cyber analytics.

About you

We are looking for a specialist with extensive technical experience and a desire to develop the cyber capabilities of the future.

In addition, we value that you

  • have experience with networks, cyber security or security monitoring.
  • have an interest in sensor technologies, scanning, telemetry or data collection.
  • can translate complex needs into technical solutions.
  • work analytically and in a structured way.
  • have an eye for automation and intelligent solutions.
  • thrive working at the intersection of technology, analytics and business.
  • follow developments in cyber security and new technologies.
  • communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

It would be an advantage if you have experience with e.g. vulnerability management, attack surface management, network sensors, SIEM, EDR, log collection or similar technologies.

About the office

The Operations and Technical Office is being established in SAMSIK and will be responsible for operational incident management as well as a number of the technical capabilities that support the national cyber effort. The office develops, implements and operates the technical solutions that form the basis for monitoring, data collection, analysis and handling of cyber incidents.

You will become part of the Detection and Scanning Team, which is responsible for developing the future sensor and scanning capabilities. The team will build the solutions that collect and process data about cyber threats and vulnerabilities and provide the technical foundation for the operational cyber effort.

It is a developing area where much is not yet fixed. You therefore have a unique opportunity to shape the development of future sensor and scanning solutions and help create the foundation for analysis, situational awareness and incident handling in SAMSIK.

What we offer you

We offer you a job in an evolving organization with dedicated employees who every day tackle an important societal task. We have a good working environment and a welcoming culture where well-being and performance go hand in hand. We are across disciplines and cultures and are currently building a new strong workplace together.
