About the job

Do you want to use your social work expertise to create good and sustainable solutions together with adult citizens with significant physical, mental or social challenges?

And are you keen to become part of a professionally strong community where we help each other, share our knowledge and have ambitions for both the citizens and the profession?

Then you may be our new advisor.

We are seeking a social worker or social mediator for the authority area in the Adults Special Unit in Kalundborg Municipality. The position is normally 37 hours per week with start as soon as possible and no later than December 1, 2026.

An important task close to the citizen's life

In the Adults Special Unit we work to support the individual citizen in the best possible way to be able to manage their own life.

We are the authority in the specialized adult social area and work with visitation, advice, decisions, follow-up and coordination of social interventions. Our citizens have different needs and life situations, and the tasks can therefore be both complex, serious and professionally challenging.

It requires high social-work quality, good administrative practice and close collaboration with the citizen, relatives, services and other partners.

With us you won't be left to yourself. We believe that the best solutions are created through professional sparring, curiosity, shared reflection and the courage to also see new possibilities.

Your tasks

As a consultant you will be responsible for your own authority cases and at the same time be an active part of the professional community around solving the tasks.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

  • advise and guide adult citizens and their relatives
  • conduct social-work assessments based on the Adult Assessment Method 2.0
  • perform target group assessments and concrete, individual assessments of the citizen's support needs
  • draft decisions on approval or denial of social interventions
  • set goals and follow up on whether the approved intervention creates the desired development for the citizen
  • coordinate complex and cross-cutting citizen pathways
  • collaborate with social services, the health sector, the employment sector and other relevant actors
  • ensure good documentation and high quality in case processing
  • contribute to the development of our common workflows and authority practices.

You will work within the Day or 24-hour area. The tasks may include social-pedagogical support in own home, housing facilities, day services, crisis centers, care homes, cash subsidy schemes and other interventions in the specialized adult social area.

The concrete placement is agreed based on your competences, experience and interests as well as the organization's needs.

We use Nexus as the specialization system, and a substantial part of the work therefore also consists of written documentation, professional assessments and decisions.

We imagine that you

  • are trained social worker or social mediator
  • have an interest in authority work and the specialized adult social area
  • work in a structured way and can create overview in complex cases
  • are professionally curious and want to develop your practice
  • communicate clearly, respectfully and understandably – both verbally and in writing
  • can work independently and at the same time see professional sparring and collaboration as a natural part of task-solving
  • meet the citizens in a respectful manner and can balance the citizen's wishes with the framework of the law and a professional assessment
  • take responsibility for your tasks, agreements and deadlines
  • contribute positively to the professional and collegial community.

It is an advantage if you have experience with authority work in the specialized adult social area, but it is not a requirement. If you are newly trained or come with experience from another social field, we will provide a thorough introduction and help you get started with the tasks.

You must have a driving license.

With us the ambitions are high – but you are not alone

We know that high quality in case processing is closely linked to professional support, clear leadership and a good working environment.

Therefore we offer

  • a strong professional community with engaged and helpful colleagues
  • a thorough and individually tailored introduction program
  • ongoing professional sparring and the possibility of supervision
  • close and accessible leadership
  • professional coordinators who support quality, consistent practice and daily sparring
  • opportunity for ongoing competence development
  • influence on the development of workflows and authority practices
  • flexible work arrangements, flexitime and the possibility of working from home
  • possibility of a flexible four-day workweek within the applicable framework
  • a workplace characterized by trust, integrity, humor and high professional ambitions.

We focus on solving our tasks properly, but we also leave room for collegiality, a good laugh, a cup of coffee and a walk and talk.

Become part of the Adults Special Unit

This is the job for you who value both the thorough authority task and close collaboration with citizens, colleagues and partners.

You will have the opportunity to make a concrete difference in citizens' lives and at the same time contribute to developing the future authority work in the specialized adult social area.

We look forward to hearing how you can contribute to our professional community.
