The Cyber Division is seeking a leader for the Local IT Service Center at Aalborg Air Base

About us

Local IT Service Center Aalborg Air Station is part of the regional service centers that cover Central and Northern Jutland. The service center handles local IT tasks for the Defence’s users at Aalborg Air Station and in the region’s other locations, and works closely with the other Local IT Service Centers in the region.

We are part of the Cyber Division at the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization. The tasks span broadly and include, among other things, user support, operation of administrative networks, IT systems, AV equipment, mobile phones and the loan of IT equipment.

About the position

As Head of Local IT Service Center at Aalborg Air Station, you will be responsible for the daily management, operation and development of the service center. You will be the focal point for a team that provides local IT support to customers and users, where the requirements for service, security and operational stability are high.

You will be responsible for personnel management, prioritization of tasks, coordination with users and partners, and ongoing development of workflows and quality in task execution. You must be able to create an overview, set direction and ensure that the employees have the framework to succeed in a busy everyday life.

You will join the region’s management team and actively contribute to the cross-cutting development of Local IT Service in Central and Northern Jutland. This means you must be able to lead locally and think regionally. You must help establish consistent procedures, strengthen knowledge sharing and ensure that we use resources wisely across Local IT Service Centers.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

• lead and develop the employees at Local IT Service Center at Aalborg Air Station
• ensure stable operation, good service and timely task completion
• prioritize and coordinate support in collaboration with the region’s other Local IT Service Centers
• support users with IT in an operational environment where security and availability are crucial
• contribute to materiel management, inventory responsibility and administrative processes
• translate common regional decisions into concrete local actions
• contribute to a strong working environment with well-being, professionalism and integrity as core elements

About you

We are mainly looking for a leader who can create followership. You do not need to be the deepest technical specialist in the room, but you must understand the importance of IT operations for users and be able to lead employees, tasks and collaboration with calm, direction and sound judgment.

The position is to be filled by someone with solid leadership experience, relevant IT understanding and the ability to work in a public and security-conscious organization.

We emphasize that you can translate your leadership experience into the Defence’s framework and quickly build an understanding of our culture, security requirements and task execution.

Experience with DeMars or similar materiel and inventory management is a plus.

You must be proficient in Danish and English for everyday use in writing and speaking. A category B driving license is required.

Employment terms

If you have an office education or another relevant education, you will be employed in accordance with the currently applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Public Sector (OAO-C collective agreement) and the organizational agreement for clerks, technicians and IT staff.

The appointment is made under the currently applicable salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is opportunity for negotiation of allowances. The position has an employer-financed pension scheme.

Workplace is in Aalborg.

As an employee within the Defence Ministry’s area, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be able to obtain a security clearance and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

You as an employee have a duty to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
