The Cyber Division seeks Network Technician for monitoring and operation in Karup

We are looking for a new colleague for our Technical Operations West in Karup, where we offer an exciting and challenging job within monitoring and operation of the Defence's IT systems.

The section is part of the Cyber Division under the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO).

About the position

You will have a varied daily routine where tasks include, among others, operations tasks, projects, fault finding and advising, secure operation of networks.

You will mainly work with network administration/infrastructure, where you will be part of the daily operation and maintenance of our various networks. This includes performing control and troubleshooting, as well as creation and decommissioning of networks for our locations.

You will become part of a team responsible for the operation and monitoring of network environments and infrastructure in existing and new environments as well as their implementation.

Your areas of work will include

• Administration of Cisco equipment.
• Administration of SonicWall, Unifi and other products within network equipment.
• Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting via monitoring tools Zabbix, Cisco and PRTG
• Implementation tasks and documentation of new systems.

About you

We are looking for a network technician with a relevant background, such as data technician or similar. Alternatively an IT employee with several years of experience in administration and operation of network infrastructure. You should also master Danish and English in both written and spoken form at a technical level.

We expect you to have

• Basic understanding of networks (firewalls, switches, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
• General understanding of IT security and compliance.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to work responsibly and in a structured manner.

We expect that, in addition to your apprenticeship, you have 3-5 years of experience and preferably from a similar position.

You are collaborative, and you are passionate about developing your specialty and learning new things. You have a good mood and can communicate technically complex information to both technical and non-technical partners and colleagues.

You work engaged, structured and quality-conscious, and take responsibility for both your and the section's tasks. You thrive in a work environment where there is focus on stable operation of systems, but where changes can also happen quickly.

As a person you are positive by nature and see solutions rather than challenges. You have a desire to improve yourself, and you willingly share your technical knowledge with your colleagues.

You must be prepared that the position can change to involve joining a 24/7 operations organization with a shift schedule around the clock. You will have the opportunity to ask more about this at a potential interview.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current Danish Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector Agreement (OAO-S Collective Agreement) and the Collective Agreement for Clerical Workers, Laboratory Technicians and IT Employees in the State (HK).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances. The position includes an employer-financed pension scheme.

The workplace is in Karup.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security-cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

You have, as an employee, a duty to perform service outside of the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
