Trainees for GF2 with a main program to become a SOSU assistant or SOSU helper

If you are over 25 years old, you can apply for an apprentice position with Randers Municipality and receive adult apprentice wages throughout your education to become a social and health care assistant or a social and health care helper – also during the mandatory Grundforløb 2 at the Social and Health School.

If you have a Danish/Nordic high school education, you will receive credit and your Grundforløb 2 will take 8 weeks.

You will be able to start GF2 on 1 September 2026 or 24 November if you have a high school education. The main program starts thereafter on 1 February 2027.

Criteria for applying for the position

• You must be 25 years or older at the start of the education
• You must have applied to Grundforløb 2 on optagelses.dk and may have received an admission letter to Grundforløb 2 for a sosu education from the Social- and Health School .
• You must have 2 in Danish and mathematics
• You can use the Danish language as a tool in collaboration.

Elevates the position as social- and health care assistant and social- and health care helper is an education where you gain knowledge and action competences at a high professional level in areas including health, rehabilitation, nursing and care for people in different life situations.

You will have a varied daily life, where you are both at the classroom and in apprenticeship placements. At the Social- and Health School you get the theoretical foundation that equips you to work in practice. School and apprenticeship programs are weighted equally because they are prerequisites for working qualified and competent.

Practical information about the education

• At the Social- and Health School you are assigned a class teacher.
• Teaching alternates between group work, lectures, discussions, practical exercises and study visits.
• In the apprenticeship phase you are assigned a mentor/supervisor with whom you plan your education.
• You will have apprenticeship placements in the municipality at either a care center or a district. On the sosu assistant education you also have an apprenticeship in psychiatry and at the hospital.
• In your apprenticeship periods you may have work days both on weekdays and weekends. Working hours will primarily be day shifts, but evening and night shifts may occur.
• When you are in training, you have a 37-hour work week.
• In the school periods you follow the timetable you will receive from the Social- and Health School.
